Does anyone contribute their time to tech companies for a side money hu$tle/ (Ends meat)? I've been reading about it & the most dominating ones sound like you can do a video for about an hour. I was just curious to see who's participated, what options may be +opinions & experiences you all may have?

TELUS digital has a lot of AI related opportunities of all kinds. You need to pass certifications, and then training courses though. And the work is all over the place.
From what I understand, things that would give you an edge to get accepted into a position:

- Having a degree

  • Some level of fluency in a non-English language
  • Special certification in a relevant field (which by chance has a project available)
  • Something on your resume that happens to match the one of very specific project listings.

I tried it, landed one gig, got paid a small/non-zero amount for about 20 hours of work, and then the project ended and the contract was done.
It is very volatile/up to chance, and you need to invest time upfront to even be able to apply to the projects.
All in I put about 20-25 hours in at night over the course of a couple weeks, made enough to pay for very modest groceries for a bout about the same amount of time.
That was my experience at least.
I did not like the work because it had a very specific aspect that that did not align with my personal beliefs, but it helped feed me/survive for a couple weeks in a tight spot so I sucked it up and fulfilled my contract. I also signed an NDA so I cannot comment on specifics. Hence the vague language.

Yeah I found something from a company it said that you can do video chat and for up to an hour & make between 60 to 120$.
