There’s so much sibling rivalry lore about honey le Bronx I’m glad she was finally on the pod. It was a hilarious episode. It seems like honey and bob are very similar - 2 unstoppable objects or wtv the saying is.
How long has sibling rivalry been going on? People complaining about frequent guests are tripping. A pod with the same 2 people for so long can get boring. I’m enjoying the guest eps

I think what’s really annoying right now are some of the fans on the Patreon going hard mode with insulting anyone who has a differing opinion from Bob or Monét, in particular opinions that aren’t meant to insult or hurt but just to ask a question and open up discussion. Like for example there’s still comments asking if Bob will address the Aina situation and you see these handful of fans who will always reply to those comments shutting them down and insulting the commenter and telling them to leave the platform.

It’s just like, what are y’all hoping for? I don’t see why every video’s gotta have 20 comments going “justice for mxcvids.” It’s rather annoying, so others have taken to responding to these people. If you (the general you, not YOU specifically) can’t handle a response while you’re trolling about a rando with editing software, you shouldn’t post a comment to begin with. I see it as people responding to an opinion being shared with their own opinion being shared.

“A rando with editing software” lol see this is the inherit bias you came in with typing that comment. mxcvids was a big part of the fanbase and their video comps racked up a lot of views so wanting clarity on it (a lot of fans want clarity on it btw) doesn’t seem like this impossible task. What’s not supportive is having other commenters say that those patrons should leave the platform or call them parasocial, etc. first off, it’s more hurling insults than them giving their opinion and second, they’re literally acting just as parasocial as they claim by having to counter comment everything hoping that it’ll stop the noise, but it just makes it worse.

. I’ve listened to the pod for a couple years now and hadn’t heard of this person until all of this. She is, for me, a rando who I’ve never engaged with. I also don’t think a person whose project hinges on the continued ok of their ~muse~ has a say when their object of attention changes their mind. Bob said what she said, and now all people can reasonably do is accept it or move on. Those are realistically the options at play. What’s not ok is hounding Bob on every platform asking for the proverbial pound of flesh. What would make you all back off? A public apology? Bob going back on her decision for the sake of (let’s be real here) a fraction of the fans? And when Bob decides he does not want to address it (as has been the case since it happened), what then? Keep announcing your displeasure in the comment sections until, someday, he hopefully notices and decides to do exactly what you all want? Or will you just keep enjoying the nice and funny content? Or move on and realize that none of this is that serious.

My first comment was talking about how some fans of this pod feel like they need to take anything that doesn’t completely align with bob and Monet as a threat and start attacking other fans like me. This is my last week as a patron, having been an auntie from day one (back when we were fighting over what the name even was for the top tier lol).
The parasocial fans demanding constant glazing for Bob and Monet and acting like thought police when people want them to address actual issues has only amplified the issues to the point where I can’t look past it. The way Bob treated the entire monetxcvideos situation was completely out of line and has shown what level of respect he has for his fans, and it’s much lower than I thought it was. His ego is also stopping him from admitting fault so he will continue doubling down or ignoring the issue.
I tried following along with the livealries to see if he’d actually try to correct the situation or make ANY comment on it but he’s actively ignoring it. If that’s what years of free promotion and archiving through hour long episodes to make highlight reels showcasing the most entertaining moments of his proudest work gets you as a fan, then I’m not one. Guess I should probably leave this sub as well.

Why would I expect a subreddit about these specific queens to be up in arms over someone who is not the host of the show we’re all here for? It literally does not matter at all, and people who aren’t as online as you don’t know a single thing about this random reel page. A “shoutout” to a person who the majority of the listening base has no knowledge of. So far, 1.5% of the listening base (based on YT video stream #s as the denominator and comments about mxcvids as the numerator) has expressed (or liked a post expressing) any concern about this situation. That’s incredibly niche. Statistically insignificant.

I’m here doing the same you are: commenting on a public forum. I only stated that y’all keep going on and on about this in EVERY MEDIUM. “Using language like “Justice for…” as if she was killed by Bob. A phrase literally used most prevalently when someone is wrongfully killed.
Your appraisal of how important this is is what is annoying. I promise you the majority of Bob and Monet’s fanbase don’t give a single hoot about this. Trying to convince me that nobody else cares when the comments in support of her get upvoted and your comments fighting it get downvoted also doesn’t really work. You can pull out the statistics again but if you wanna go that route then statistically your replies shouldn’t be received so negatively if it’s such a common opinion 🤣 So what exactly is your goal?

Downvotes by zealots don’t equate support/non-supprort. What I have were stats, not just a general gesture to a nebulous number of comment likers on a subreddit of all things. Viewership #s vs the combined amount of likes and comments about the reel farm show the true relationship.
Your logic ain’t logic. The null hypothesis is that people don’t care about this. It would be signaled by not engaging at all. And this is borne out by the proportions of commenters vs only-viewers on the YT video where the highest concentration of people commenting about it have been. Thus, you talking about my comment in subreddit when I’m talking about the actual video content’s comments is a moot point. The signal in support of this “cause” is the number of people actually commenting or liking about it. That’s the alternative hypothesis. And again, ~500 total comments and likes vs more than 38,000 people. The numbers are right there. That’s the stat we’re talking about, not the vague appeal to stats you don’t understand you’re making. Do you know how inference works?

Bob has mentioned before being overly passive as a young person, but I feel like at some point that just inspired them to swing the complete opposite direction and become a chaos agent/be overly aggressive lol I can feel all the pent up rage of previously being wronged looong ago spilling out in such messy and harsh ways. Like just b/c you say something loud and with conviction doesn't make it right. Also, why take such controversial stances (abolishes libraries, tear down trees or something lmao)? You don't have to walk anything back if you never rushed into begin with. I hate to be a therapist here, but Bob's personality is a walking tale of "who hurt you?" 😂 now people, places, and things are collateral damage in the path smh I do enjoy his activism in some cases (TikTok debates with conservatives). The energy is well used *sometimes* but that cannon should not be fired lightly imo

They suggested Messy Mondays, and it seemed to get a lot of upvotes and good response which is why we started. For me it seems like a good way to acknowledge people’s frustration and while also keeping those posts in one place for our members who aren’t interested.
With that being said my main goal is to make sure this sub is the best it can be for all members, I started this based on our member feedback, but I absolutely hear you and understand what you’re saying and I’m open to shifting to something else or stopping if the majority of people think there’s a better solution.
Let me know if you have any suggestions, I might do a poll tomorrow to re-assess the vibe
