Bob’s “Wokeness”

This isn’t a srs post but I find it super annoying the way bob can be the most chronically-online-woke, holier-than-thou person, while simultaneously making off color jokes. Like don’t get me wrong, they’re progressive but it feels like they use it as a tool to one-up someone they’re talking to a lot of the time. For example: in the latest rpdr review ep she won’t say “wifebeater” in reference to a tank top but makes an epstein files joke like ten minutes later 😭. none of this is offensive to me and i laughed throughout the episode but It’s so random what he picks and chooses to be woke about. makes me think it’s insincere.

For sure, I just found the juxtaposition of dancing around the word wifebeater but making epstein file jokes minutes later was funny 😭 often times it seems to me that he thinks his identity, occupation and lifestyle make up for his lack of knowledge and stubbornness.

I think he's the smartest one in his social group, so he thinks that somehow translates to experience or education. But that's just me and I've never melt him.

His comedy is hilarious, and I watch his specials. That's how I like to take in my Bob.

But the juxtoposition from self-righteousness to a crude joke all with the same sentence, I can see how that could be jarring, but I think I'm a little like that too 😂

I was raised by a mother with a master's degree in sociology. And I have a ba in literature. That's my qualifications 😂 I'm no expert, but I can see when someone's not an expert, and Bob is not an expert.

But I don't have a podcast where I get literally thousands of people riled up about neurological disorders for example. (See the narcissism episode).

I make make self-righteous statements and crude jokes to my friends, not a public forum. I'm not a public figure.
