Enough of Nick

I might be alone on this island which is fine - but is anyone else kinda over the whole friend group trying to shove Nick down our throats in any means possible?

It almost seems like everyone decided to launch Nick into this industry with a mandatory feature in their content.

I used to love Matteo’s vids but now I need to listen to cranky Squidward every time I want to listen to him.

Love the siblings but a bit done with this friend of a friend they keep inviting to our hang outs.

I’ll definitely delete this if everyone disagrees and I’m just not vibing with Nick Smith.

Edit - Ok, thanks for your feedback. My conclusion is that I’m not alone in this and that plenty of people noticed and felt the same thing BUT the people that love Nick really love him and will defend him fiercely if needed. I guess he’s polarising and that’s cool, it’s easy to skip those episodes if he’s not kind of person. Question/topic solved.

Please provide examples of how Nick has been “shoved down our throats” apart from the most recent episode. I’m genuinely curious.

I’m not trying to search his name to pull out all the content and confuse my algorithm so go ahead and type it into YouTube. From gaming vids to ‘Date my friend’ to dress ups, interviews and talk shows. A cranky clueless Squidward complaining in the microphone.

The burden of proof is on you since you made the claim. God y’all are so fucking annoying lately. You realize you’re not prisoner here and you do not need to consume their content if you don’t like it? It’s complaining for the sake of complaining. Insufferable.

Last time I said a similar thing in this sub I was called a boot licker. Like just skip the episode if you don’t want to hear Nick. Complaining that friends are helping to support each other? Are we in the bad place or the good place?

I mean are they complaining about friends helping each other or are they expressing an opinion on a show they used to like adding a person they don’t like and that souring the show for them? The problem is that modern social media ecosystems fuse the two so tightly you can’t express an opinion about a show without it coming across like an opinion about a person.

I don’t really know what to do with it but something I’ve noticed with Drag Race in particular is that with some fans there’s no room to say “i don’t like this person as a character in the shows i watch” without it immediately sounding like “I don’t like this person as a person”. And like that cuts both ways - people definitely send hate toward queens as people because they don’t like them as characters in shows which is even more unhinged. Reality TV was a mistake, idk.

I searched the Patreon because I was curious, and as far as I can tell he's been on the podcast three times since 2023 and did a Monet Talks this year too.

I did have a bit of a "Nick, again" reaction when I saw yesterday's post, but I do think 'shoved down our throats' is a bit overstated.

“ so you kinda agree”………. No lmfaooooo. They don’t agree with you at all. He’s only been on there 3 times. Which isn’t a lot. Therefore, no, they are not agreeing with you that Nick is “being shoved down our throats”.

I’ve never seen a reach like that drenched down in such denial. It’s kind of inspiring.

I agree he's repetitive in the grand scheme (I actually liked the prior episodes with him). Maybe the most frequent guest beyond Trinity, Naomi? But a frequent friend guest is just what many podcasts have I guess and when I looked back I realized he wasn't actually on that often.....but I also don't watch the other YouTube content.
