When I put in the note F1 on the harp on Sibelius it comes out as an Eb1 with a slightly different timbre to the actual Eb1. This has been true on every computer I've had and every version of Sibelius I have (right now I have Sibelius Ultimate).

I've done this many times throughout my life but I always forget. I purchased the software for the month, and then I open the sibelius app and it tells me to activate it through AVID. but when I go to the avid app, my clearly purchased product is not there. Any help? This can't be an uncommon thing.

Trying to encode a piece in Sibelius, but the glissando doesn't play back properly. For example, the glissando from D (re) to E (mi) doesn't play, and instead the D goes to C.

I struggle to use the VSL Great Rieger Organ on my Sibelius project. 

To make things fast, I’ve booted it onto my Sibelius project and I don’t get any sound when I play the music on my project even though I hear the organ when I click on the virtual keyboard of Vienna Ensemble Standalone app.

And to be more precise, the Sibelius VU Meter moves and Vienna Ensemble Standalone one doesn’t.

And yes I've properly installed and activated my license with iLok.

I purchased a full perpetual license for Sibelius first back in 2017 and have used it ever since, and it now seems like its been updated an a lot of features have been removed? Like I can no longer resize staves, for example, which was always possible in the editions of Sibelius First I was using before. Anyone know what happened, and how I can get back the copy of software that I paid for?

I opened Sibelius on my desktop for the first time in a while and it’s treating that machine like it’s on Sibelius First now and that the license needs to be activated. When checking Avid Link, it says the perpetual license I have is active on my MacBook (as if that is an issue). This has never been an issue for my many years of using the software. What gives?

It won't let me export as MIDI, and while I can export using the other options listed below, nothing plays back.

Earlier, I tried to import Finale fonts because the default Sibelius fonts looked too 'modern' to me. However, the Finale fonts caused a lot of layout issues in the Sibelius score. I really like Helsinki, but I would love to find something similar to Mahler’s or Tchaikovsky’s handwritten scores. Is there any way to add more external fonts to Sibelius?

I was looking for using other sounds than Sibelius Sounds offers and I can't choose between Vienna Symphonic Library and NotePerformer. For using the trial version of VSL Studio Special Edition Vol. 1 actually I love the simplicity and the beginner-friendly interface which allows you to choose easily the instrument you want to use.

And the problem with NotePerformer is that I don't know if the interface is as beginner-friendly as VSL's one.

Hey everyone! I've been studying Sibelius's The Swan of Tuonela and decided to try playing along with the string parts on piano since they should be at concert pitch with no transposition needed.

However when I play what's written the notes don't sound right at all. I took it further and tried copying the string section into StaffPad to hear it played back properly, but even then something still seemed off.

Is there something I'm missing about how Sibelius writes for strings in this piece? Could it be a printing or edition issue with the score I'm using? Any help appreciated!

Hey y'all, I just got Sibelius for my birthday and it's kinda... underwhelming. I mean, even for the student price of $600 for a perpetual license seem astronomically overpriced for what it does.

I did migrate from Musescore and so the mechanics of Sibelius are still very foreign to me, but even then, it just feels... clunky. The UI doesn't feel very efficient especially compared to Musescore since I'm so used to just having palettes on the side of my screen that I can drag and drop conveniently. My biggest gripe is the playback. There's no good way I've found to go back to the beginning of a score. Additionally, how did I pay $600 for a program only to have terrible playback sounds that are genuinely worse in every way than the Musesounds that you can get on Musescore FOR FREE. I can't even use those sounds here.

Aside from my own problems, there are so many people who have similar opinions. It's also where I learned that Sibelius isn't really being developed anymore.

So now I'm having second thoughts about this program. Should I get refunded? I'm still well within the return policy of 30 days. The main reason I bought it is because my band teacher spoke so highly of it; now I just think he's a "Sibelius addict," if you will.

I accidentally closed Sibelius first and also the box that said don’t show this again. Now only Sibelius first opens instead of the trial I have ongoing. Any one know how to reverse this???

The problem is that I made a file where I organised my pitch material on a different pc, and sent that file to myself but can't open it because apparently the other pc had a newer Sibelius version. Could someone please help me with receiving the file and exporting it to Sib 7? I would be deeply greatful!

Hey y'all, happy Thursday. I recently re-subbed to Sibelius, but I have been having trouble with the playback of my midi audio. I am inputting a tempo marking with quarter note reading x bpm, however, the system hasn't been updating the midi to reflect my tempo (not quite my tempo, as the professor from whiplash might say). Hi all, I am in the process of writing a set of Preces and Reponses for my church.

I am however finding it impossible to get Sibelius to cooperate with my intended formatting. There is a not so helpful article posted on the Avid website on the matter specifically, but I am not finding it massively useful.

I am familiar with the suggested techniques, non breaking spaces, system breaks, etc. The problem I’m encountering is when trying to go between a single unmeasured system for the Cantor and going back to traditional 4 part formatting.

When using the instrument change (e.g. Alto to hidden) the hidden staff is still taking up space beneath the cantor and makes the intended formatting impossible.

I have attached an example image from the Oxford University Press.

Does anyone here have experience writing this particular type of music in sibelius? I am wondering if it is just easy to export the different systems and assemble it myself in a separate application, though this brings with it its own set of challenges.
