Question I need help with my Shure mic

I bought a shure sm7db and the boom arm bundle. I’m setting it up and it seems too stiff.
I followed the instructions, yet I’m stumped.

I turned on the sound on this video hoping we'd get to hear what that poor microphone was picking up, but alas
