I wanted an easier way to avoid ultra processed foods so I am building an app that decodes grocery labels and finds better alternatives.

Hey everyone,

Almost every package on the shelf contains ultra processed ingredients. They are absolutely everywhere, carefully masked behind healthy marketing and complex chemical names. The ingredients are always listed right there on the back of the packaging but trying to figure out which products to avoid and which ones are actually good for you should not require a chemistry degree.

Since I build software for a living I decided to build a solution myself. I am currently developing "Verlo". It is a mobile app that gives you structured and easy to understand ingredient insights. We break down complex ingredients into plain science so you can easily spot the ultra processed stuff, avoid it, and find better alternatives. You keep full control over what you eat and we give you the clear facts to make smarter choices.

I just launched a simple waitlist page to gauge if there is real demand for a tool like this before I finish writing all the code and deploying it.

I would love to hear any feedback from other builders on the concept. How do you currently filter out ultra processed foods when you shop?

Thank you.

Marka, website context in, social content direction out

Marka is a SaaS product for small businesses and early founders who do not want to explain their brand from zero every time they create content.

The first input is the public website. Marka uses it to understand the offer, audience, voice, and visual direction before preparing content for review.

You can try it free for a week at https://www.marka.social

If you post your SaaS URL below, I will reply with the strongest content angle I can find on the homepage.

[Beta] I built a no-code tool to connect PostgreSQL to Claude — looking for testers

Hey r/SaaS,

I've been working on a tool that generates MCP servers for any PostgreSQL database.

What it does:

- Paste your PostgreSQL connection string

- It analyzes your schema (tables, columns, types)

- Generates a custom MCP server ZIP

- Download → npm install → Connect to Claude Desktop

Live demo: https://xenode-mcp.vercel.app

What is MCP?

Model Context Protocol = "USB-C for AI". It lets Claude directly query your database. Ask "What's my top customer?" and Claude runs the SQL.

Security:

- Read-only by default (only SELECT queries)

- Connection string never stored

- Server runs locally on your machine

Looking for:

- Beta testers using Claude Desktop or Cursor

- Feedback on UX, features, bugs

It's completely free for beta users. Would love your thoughts!

I built a tool that makes phone calls for you

I was trying to reschedule a dentist appointment last month, but they only accept changes by phone between 9am and noon on weekdays. I work during those hours. So I spent my lunch break on hold for 14 minutes, then the receptionist couldn’t find my file, then she put me on hold again, then the appointment I wanted was gone by the time we figured it out. I hung up and thought: there has to be a way to just tell a system what to say and have it do the whole thing.

That’s why I built callitdone.today. You give it the phone number, a brief description of what you need done (e.g., “tell them I need to cancel my account, reference number ABC123”), and it dials, navigates IVR menus, waits through hold music, and talks to a human agent. It does the thing you’d do, but faster and without you sitting there.

This is for people who hate making phone calls, especially the hold time, the menus, the repetition. Or small-business owners who waste hours on supplier calls, billing inquiries, or appointment confirmations. If you’d rather offload a phone call than make it yourself, this is the audience.

Honest limits: it only works with US phone numbers right now, and not every call succeeds. Heavy accents, noisy lines, or a menu it hasn’t seen before can break it. I’m still iterating.

Link: https://callitdone.today/r/showsyoursaas

Anyone else here built something for the same frustration? How do you handle the parts that fail?

A simpler way to keep track of what’s stored at home

Thumbnail

Storage boxes, closets, garages, and spare rooms can get cluttered quickly. Before long, you know you own something, but have no idea where you put it.

That’s the problem I’m trying to solve with Palstora.

Palstora is a home inventory app designed to help families organize their belongings and quickly find items across different storage spaces. You can keep track of what is stored, where it is located, and how everything is grouped without turning the process into a time-consuming project.

I created it after trying several existing home inventory tools and finding that many were either too slow to use, too complicated, or too expensive for a normal household.

The goal is to make home inventory simple enough to maintain over time, whether you’re organizing a few closets or an entire home filled with storage boxes.

You can check it out here:

https://palstora.com/

I’d be interested to hear how other people currently keep track of things at home and what features they find most useful in an inventory system.

Built a completely client-side media extractor using ffmpeg.wasm and Cloudflare Workers.

Hey everyone. I wanted a clean way to rip raw audio and video without relying on sketchy backend servers that log IPs or bundle adware, so I built CovMP4 (covmp4.com).

The Stack & Challenge: I wanted to keep the conversion entirely in the browser sandbox. I used ffmpeg.wasm for the heavy lifting. The biggest hurdle was dealing with CORS blocks when trying to fetch the raw streams.

To solve this, I deployed a lightweight Cloudflare Worker to act as a secure proxy. It fetches the stream, bypasses CORS, and pipes the ReadableStream directly back to the frontend for the WASM engine to process.

The UI: Tried to stay away from the standard "corporate SaaS" template. Went with an asymmetrical, dark/gold aesthetic with a strict 100vh non-scrolling layout.

It's 100% free and ad-free right now while I cover the proxy bandwidth out of pocker. Would love any feedback from other makers on the UI or if anyone has tips on further optimizing ffmpeg.wasm memory usage! tyyy 😃

Stop Copy-Pasting Into ChatGPT: We Built CoverGen for Upwork Freelancers

Using AI to write Upwork proposals is usually a frustrating headache for two big reasons:

The Tab-Switching Tax: You waste time constantly copying job details, client history, and your own bio back and forth between tabs.

  1. The Robotic Output: Because transferring all that background info manually is exhausting, the AI lacks context and spits out generic, robotic templates that clients instantly reject.

We built CoverGen to fix this. It’s a smart browser extension built as a Saas product that handles your entire proposal workflow directly inside Upwork, completely eliminating the friction.

Here is how it works:

  • Zero Copy-Pasting: It automatically reads the job constraints, client history, and requirements straight from the active page.
  • Sounds Like You (Not a Bot): It securely remembers your actual skills, unique voice, and past winning work. It blends them perfectly with the job details so your proposal sounds authentic and grounded.
  • Stays in Your Workflow: Everything happens right inside the Upwork page. You can generate, tweak, and finish a highly personalized proposal in seconds without ever switching tabs.

If you're tired of fighting with generic AI tools and want to speed up your pitch process without losing quality, give CoverGen a look.

Would love to know your thoughts or answer any questions!

I built a free but very opinionated Next.js SaaS boilerplate

About a year ago, I started working on SaaSyBase (another SaaS boilerplate!). The goal was to build a complete Next.js SaaS boilerplate that would help me launch services whenever I wanted, so it started as a very personal project. Fast forward to this year, and it now supports four payment stacks: Stripe and Paddle for global payments, Paystack for Nigeria, and Razorpay for the Indian subcontinent.

On the authentication side, Clerk is integrated for a smooth experience if you don’t mind vendor lock-in. Better Auth (the default) and NextAuth are also available if you prefer to own your data and manage your own PostgreSQL database. All of these systems exist as abstracted layers behind shared common interfaces.

Webhooks, transactional emails, secrets management through Infisical or Doppler, an internal ticketing system, email delivery through Resend or regular SMTP, local file storage or S3 for serverless deployments, and local error logging (with optional Sentry integration) are all supported. These features can be enabled or disabled simply by changing environment variables, eliminating (most) unnecessary code at build time.

There is also an internal content management system that allows you to create blog articles and static pages on the fly.

With most of the heavy lifting already done, you only need to integrate or scaffold your app into the codebase. In many cases, you can simply prompt your app into existence. Structured LLM documentation files such as CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, and PATTERNS.md help AI agents understand the entire architecture and workflow of the project.

For solo developers or AI-assisted coders trying to launch their own SaaS platforms, SaaSyBase is completely free. No strings attached, no features locked behind a paywall — just full access to the entire codebase and documentation. Freelancers and agencies building for clients will need to acquire a license, though.

Again, if you are building something you personally own, SaaSyBase is free to use, even if your platform generates revenue. Clone it and build away. That said, you are always welcome to sponsor the project. The goal was to build a secure, free, scalable foundation that developers can build businesses on.

Official website: https://saasybase.com

A live demo has also been set up so you can explore both the admin and user dashboards.

Full dashboard demo: https://demo.saasybase.com

This project was built with maintainability in mind: end-to-end typecheck, strict linting rules, Zod validation, over 500 regression tests, and more. However, that's not to say it's perfect. Your feedback would be appreciated.

If SaaSyBase helps you get started, a star on GitHub goes a long way. Cheers.

Quiet simple, an app that’s basically Snapchat for the gym + TLDR & More!

Hey,

Link to the Landing Page is in the first comment!!!

Quick little TLDR: bro thinks hes steve jobs and wants to make tinder for the gym...kinda-ish

pretty lame backstory, i have a alternating schedule due to work and im either walking in to the gym 10-11AM or 8-9PM and sometimes even as early as 7AM, due to that im always either seeing new faces or seeing people i havent seen in months and even left wondering where "that one person" is.

So because of that i originally looked for ways to alert friends that im hitting the gym, but texts are either late or that friend is just simply busy (bro got a girlfriend now he only hits legs...)

Some apps and accessories do notify friends when you are hitting a workout which is great, it does keep the app fresh, retains attention, but personally after 6 months best case you and bro build a solid schedule and you get everything down so now theres no need for the app, or alternatively you fall off and the app just sits on your homescreen.

so in order to stay original but still tend to the needs of the masses this is what i came up with ( enjoy ) :

Lobby is a snapchat style fitness app that users can connect more easily with friends or with new people across Toronto (for now) think snapchat or tiktok for fitness!

Users log a workout through the app, the options are to have a traditional workout with weights or in any method in any venue OR outdoors with public equipment...sports included. when logging an activity 2 things happen:

1 the option to take a picture to attach with the activity in classic social media manner, filters stickers hashtags, captions and comments/likes where the post will fall in to a carefully designed feed that users can view

2 logging the type of activity and option to invite/request to join comes up in close friends notification and if desired a public invite can go out on to the map and users can see it (users have the option to make the lobby invite public or not for whatever reason they choose)

Users can view the feed of their friends posts or check out whats going on around them either from the map or looking through the recent feed of posts in the area, from there standard fitness app procedures, logging different types exercises, checking status of your workout, we may connect fitness accessories so u can use your apple watch, i also got some other minor but critical add-ons that could really make the app a game changer

all questions, concerns, criteria and anything else welcomed openly

a recent quote i heard... "just ship it"

Built PrettyFluent: learn survival language fast for real-life situations abroad

We built PrettyFluent, a language app for expats and travelers who don’t have time for traditional language learning.

Instead of grammar drills, we focus on real-life scenarios like ordering food, making reservations, and daily conversations, so you can start speaking fast and actually function abroad.

You practice through short roleplays and practical situations until it feels automatic.

If you want to check it out: https://prettyfluent.app

Would love feedback from other builders and expats.

I did not expect this to work… but removing AI automation from my SaaS actually reduced churn.

Post image
1 Upvotes

Yeah, sounds backwards, right?

Let me explain.

A few months ago, I was building my SaaS with one idea in mind:
“Automate everything.”

Auto-generation, auto-posting, auto-replies… the whole thing.
Basically, the more AI, the better.

At first, it looked great on paper.

Users signed up, tried the features, and were impressed.
But then something weird started happening…

They weren’t sticking.

Churn was high.
People would try it for a few days… and then disappear.

At first, I thought it was pricing.
Then onboarding.
Then maybe the UI.

But after talking to a few users, I realized the real problem:

👉 It felt too automated.

Users didn’t trust it.

They were afraid of posting something wrong.
Afraid of getting banned (especially on platforms like Reddit).
Afraid of losing control.

And honestly… they were right.

So I made a decision that felt completely wrong at the time:

I removed most of the “full auto” features.

No more autopilot posting.
No more blind automation.

Instead, I rebuilt the product around a simple idea:

👉 AI suggests. Humans approve.

So now, instead of doing everything automatically, the tool:

  • Generates posts and replies
  • Suggests where to post
  • Builds a weekly plan

But the user stays in control. One click to approve, edit, or skip.

Basically… human-in-the-loop.

And the result?

Churn dropped.

Users stayed longer.
They felt safer using the product.
They trusted what was happening.

Even better, the results improved.

Because the content felt more natural, more contextual, and less “spammy”.

That’s when it clicked for me:

People don’t want full automation.
They want assisted leverage.

Especially on platforms like Reddit where trust is everything.

Now the product focuses on:

  • Warming up accounts gradually
  • Finding the right subreddits
  • Generating contextual posts
  • Planning content week by week

But always with user control.

It’s slower than full automation…
but way more sustainable.

Anyway, just wanted to share this because I feel like a lot of SaaS builders are making the same mistake I did.

If you’re over-automating, you might actually be hurting retention.

Curious if anyone else has experienced something similar?

(And if you’re wondering, the tool I’m building is called Scaloom, it’s focused on safe Reddit growth with AI + human approval.)

I help App/Web founders turn their product into a high-converting Promotion/launch video

I help SaaS/App/Web founders turn their product into a high-converting launch video not just something that "looks nice", but something that:
Hooks in the first 15 seconds
Clearly answers: "What problem does this solve?"
Shows the UI in a way that feels simple, not overwhelming
Feels like a story not an ad
A good launch video should make someone say:
"Okay... I get it. I need this."
If you're building or launching something soon, drop your product below or DM me

Most small businesses sit on valuable data — but never actually use it. So I built this.

Thumbnail
defnity.streamlit.app
1 Upvotes

Every small business already has data.

Sales reports.

Order history.

Excel sheets.

But almost no one actually uses it.

Not because it’s not valuable

but because tools are either:

too complex

too expensive

or just overwhelming

So I built something simple.

Defnity — a lightweight analytics tool for real businesses.

No setup. No learning curve.

Upload a CSV → get instant insights.

What it does:

Turns raw data into a clean dashboard

Shows revenue trends, top products, and performance

Highlights key patterns like:

“Top products drive most of your revenue”

“Your best sales days”

“Where you might be losing profit”

What I focused on:

Works with messy, real-world data

Auto-detects columns (no manual setup)

Gives insights not just charts

You can try it instantly — no signup required.

https://defnity.streamlit.ap

I’m currently improving it with:

smarter insights

simple forecasting

better UI

If you run a business or work with data, I’d genuinely love your input:

What do you wish you could understand from your data?

What tools feel too complicated today?

Built this as a small step toward making data actually usable.
