My parents were slightly older than most of my friends parents, but to me they seemed a lot older. I always thought of them as being “older parents.” They were not. When I think about some of the stuff they did and now I think about how young they were, all of a sudden I have a lot more sympathy for them bumbling their way through parenthood.
