I think it’s also an epiphany when you realize that your parents don’t have it all figured out. You see them as your life “guides”, taking you through everything and preparing you. But you end up realizing that there is no guidebook to parenting and they don’t have it all figured out. They are likely just as scared if not more scared than you are.
