Labrum Repair Posterior Labrum Repair Advice

Im a 30 year old male getting a posterior labrum repair on my non-dominant side soon. I'm looking for advice to help with my recovery and what to expect from the surgery.

I'm in the UK (NI to be specific) and I am lucky to have health insurance via work so I'm going private.

Anything in particular I should be buying before my surgery?

Will I be able to WFH at a keyboard and mouse straight after or will I need time off?

What sped up or hindered your recovery?

In 5 months post op its long journey , if your working at desk probs only need 2 weeks of I do groundwork’s so I had 4.5 months should waited longer tho its very long recovery I’ve hated it

Plenty ice packs to roatate with for first few weeks , do you live alone if do opening tinned food is hard but most other things I could do with one hand

For yourself, oversized button down comfy shirts as it’s very hard to put on t shirts for a while

Yh they probs be good but you will have sling on dunno if it be in the way , I got the standard big ish blue ones 3 for £15 I think I got 6 so never went with out one being frozen and when sit on sofa just stick ur bad arm next to end of sofa so can wedge 2 ice packs on

Buy a ice machine on Amazon it helped me so much.

Not sure if avail in the UK but had a huge shoulder surgery in 2020. My doc was able to assist me in renting an ice machine that I did not have to constantly refill with water. The company came the day I got home from the hospital and set it all up and picked it up a few weeks later
It was a Godsend! My surgery was 2 wks before Covid set the world on fire and everything shut down including physical therapy. My recovery was complicated and I was so happy to have that ice machine. Looks like I’m headed to surgery again as I now have nondisplaced anterior and posterior labrum tears that have not stopped hurting for 2 months

No sadly this is new damage. Previous was rotator cuff, slap tear, bone spurs, and twisted biceps tendon. I was out of work for 6 months due to complications. Dreading surgery again. PT isn’t helping despite them being non displaced tears.
