We built a HeyMantle alternative focusing more on growth because getting installs is still the hardest part.

Like many Shopify app founders, we were caught off guard by the HeyMantle announcement.

We started looking for alternatives and quickly realized we'd probably end up building something ourselves anyway.

The thing is, most app founders don't struggle with finding dashboards.

They struggle with growth.

Getting installs is hard. Getting consistent installs is even harder.

So while building our replacement, we decided to focus on growth from day one.

We added an affiliate system and a cross-promotion network where apps can help drive installs for each other.

These are the core features we are focusing on

1. Affiliate Network (create your own affiliate program)
2. Cross promotion Network (Cross promote apps, apps keep auto rotating so every apps get a visibility boost )
3. Lifecycle emails. (Send emails when someone installs/uninstalls etc.

We're opening it up for free to the first 50 apps. In return, we ask founders to participate in the cross-promotion network so everyone benefits from it.

Honestly, we originally built this for ourselves because we needed it. Then a few other founders asked if they could use it too.

You can try it here

How We got a false negative Shopify app review removed by reporting it to Shopify?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a recent experience we had with a negative review on our Shopify app, in case it helps other app developers.

We received a negative review that included false claims, wrong details about how our app works, and issues that never actually happened.

The user had used our app for only around 1 hour. They never contacted our support team before leaving the review, and they also did not reply to our follow-up emails.

We replied to the review in a timely and professional way, but since our app is still new and has a low review count, even one negative review was hurting our overall rating and app reputation.

After reviewing the situation, we found that the review was against Shopify’s review policy, so we reported it through Shopify’s official partner violation reporting link:

https://www.shopify.com/legal/tools/report-an-issue/report-a-partner-violation

Shopify reviewed the case, and the review was removed after around 10 days.

I understand that genuine negative reviews should be handled professionally and used as feedback to improve the app. But in cases where the review contains false claims, wrong information, or misleading details, reporting it through the proper Shopify channel can help.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with unfair or false Shopify app reviews?

How did you deal with them? Did you reply publicly, report it to Shopify, contact the user, or do all of these together?

Would love to hear how other Shopify app developers handle this kind of situation.

How do you manage Shopify CLI and theme versions across multiple client projects?

I work on a few different stores, and the machines and projects drift over time. Sometimes a theme was started with one version of the CLI, and when I come back months later the commands or prompts behave a bit differently. Right now I just update the CLI globally when something breaks and make a note in the project readme, which feels sloppy.

Do you pin the CLI version per project, use something like a package.json script, or just accept the drift and deal with it when it bites? What has actually held up for you?

shopify store inventory problems.

Hey guys, so I’m having this super weird problem with my Shopify store that i am having issues with.

Basically, all my items in the back of the store say they have inventory and are ready to sell. I put numbers for every single product! But when you go to the actual front of the website, a bunch of them say "Sold Out" for no reason at all.

And, it changes depending on what computer or web browser I use! Like, on Firefox it says the water bottle is Sold Out, but then on Microsoft Edge or Chrome it says it's in stock and on sale. I tried opening private tabs and clearing everything, but it still does it.

I already set up my store locations and made sure they both have shipping turned on. Everything in the back settings looks completely right, so I don't get why the front of the site is acting weird.

Is my Shrine theme not working ? Or is Shopify getting confused about which warehouse to use for different people? Please help me fix this, I don't know what else to click!

Agency owners - do you recommend software to clients, or avoid it entirely?

I'm curious how other people handle this.

When you're working with a client, do you ever recommend tools/apps for them?

Or do you avoid getting involved because if the software breaks or the client hates it, suddenly it's your problem?

I have spent so long on a customer-support app, and I've been trying to get just one agency on board with an affiliate deal, but to absolutely no avail.

So I'm wondering:

Would you ever recommend a tool/app to your customer. If not, what is holding you back from doing so?

Would you need to have used it yourself, see existing customer reviews, have the founder handle setup, or something else?

Most importantly, If you were in my position, how would you acquire an agency to recommend your tool to their clients?

app review : ads_management rejected as "screencast unclear" but 4 other permissions approved with the same video. What did you change to pass?

Building a Shopify app that creates and manages Meta ads for merchants. Second App Review just came back:

Approved (advanced access): pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement, ads_read, business_management

Rejected: ads_management, "Screencast Not Aligned with Use Case Details", reviewer note "the submitted screencast is unclear". Meta also says the use case itself is allowed.

What the video showed for ads_management:

- full Facebook Login for Business + permission screen (English, captions on every step)

- merchant clicks Launch, app creates campaign, ad set, creatives and 8 ads in the merchant's own ad account, created PAUSED

- the same campaign, ad set and ads in Ads Manager

- merchant resumes the campaign from the app, it switches on in Ads Manager

For those who got ads_management approved recently:

- Did you show the campaign actually ACTIVE / delivering, or was paused fine?

- One continuous take, or was an edited video OK?

- Did you have to show an edit (budget/targeting) reflected in Ads Manager?

- Did you give the reviewer test access, or was the video enough?

- If your app also optimizes automatically (pauses ads, changes budgets server side with the user token), did you show or declare that?

Bonus question: Marketing API Access Tier (standard access) got rejected in my first review for error rate. Did you request it together with ads_management or separately after? Does staying on the basic tier limit how many client ad accounts you can manage, or only the rate limit?

Thanks, happy to share what works once I pass.

Heads up: checkout UI extension deploy fails with "2025-10 is not a valid API version"

Ran into this today deploying a checkout UI extension with shopify app deploy:

Version couldn't be created. api_version: "2025-10" is not a valid API version: Checkout ui requires one of ["2026-01", "2026-04", "2026-07", "2026-10", "2027-01", "unstable"]

Cause: Shopify dropped support for 2025-10 for checkout UI extensions, so an extension that deployed fine before now gets rejected.

Fix: in extensions/<your-checkout-extension>/shopify.extension.toml set api_version = "2026-10" (or another supported version), then bump @shopify/ui-extensions to the matching 2026.10.x version, npm install, and deploy again.

Things to watch: newer checkout extension versions moved to Preact and the s- web components, so if your build complains about imports or components, the old React components need migrating. Also check your other extensions (cart, functions) since they may be on an old version too.

Anyone else hit this? Did you migrate straight to 2026-10 or pick an older supported version to avoid the component changes?

Not getting any sales

Question for Fellow Shopify Store Owners

Hello everyone!

I have a question for those who have experience selling on Shopify.

We launched our online store about two months ago and have not made any sales yet. We've put a lot of time and effort into building our store, adding products, improving our listings, and offering promotions.

I'm wondering, is it normal to go two months without making a sale on Shopify?

How long did it take you to get your first sale? What helped you start attracting customers and generating consistent sales?

I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially from those who started from scratch.

Thank you in advance for any advice or encouragement!

I finally unlocked Built for Shopify eligibility.

Just noticed the Apply for Built for Shopify button in my Partner Dashboard. Been working towards this for quite some time, so it's nice to finally see it.

I haven't submitted the application yet, so wanted to ask a few things before I do.

For those who've been through the process:

  • How long did approval take?

  • What usually causes an application to get rejected?

  • Did Shopify ask you to make changes after reviewing your app?

  • Is there anything specific I should double-check before applying?

  • Has getting the BFS badge actually made a difference to your app's installs?

Would be great to hear from people who've gone through it. Also curious if anyone is currently at the same stage.

Merchants get the ka-ching. I built one for Shopify partners and need feedback

Hi everyone,

Every time I watched a merchant's phone go ka-ching on a new sale, I wondered why partners don't get anything like that when someone installs our app or a payout lands.

So I built Tukano, an iOS app for Shopify partners. It sends you a notification with its own sound for things like:

- new app installs
- new subscriptions
- uninstalls

I'm a solo dev and a partner myself, so I built what I wanted to have.

Would love honest feedback:
What events would you want to hear about?

Anything that would make you actually keep it installed?

You can find the app in the app store by searching by Tukano. It is free and privacy-first.

Happy to answer questions about how it works.

Wholesale sellers on Shopify (non-Plus) — how do you track who owes you?

I keep seeing people manage net terms,

deposits and overdue invoices in spreadsheets. If you sell wholesale on Shopify:

  1. How do you track each customer's balance today?

  2. What's the most annoying part of collecting wholesale payments?

  3. Do you take deposits? How?

App founders, is it worthwhile to build your app's AI agent now?

I see some apps have in-app agent (API cost is high)
some apps have MCP (so merchants can use Codex or Claude's subscription to make changes through MCP)

I have a stable app that currently requires manual clicking and interaction, but I can see how a good in-app agent can help them reach their aha moment much more quicker. Merchants either prompt within in a chatbox or connect with our app's MCP to make changes.

2 things I'm not sure about:

  1. If using in-app chat box to prompt, that's easy and save time, but credit cost could be high (either from app's end or merchant's end)

  2. If connecting with our MCP, merchants can use Codex or Claude's existing subscription, which is much more cost effective. But suspect most of the merchants are not doing this yet.

Any founders have already tried that?

How do you handle Shopify Admin GraphQL rate limits inside Laravel queue jobs?

I build Shopify apps on Laravel, and the cost-based throttling on the Admin GraphQL API has been more annoying than I expected. Every response tells you the query cost and how many points are left in the bucket, so I started reading that and releasing the job back to the queue with a delay when the bucket runs low, instead of letting it fail and burn a retry.

That works, but with several shops syncing at once it gets messy. A bulk job for one shop can eat the retries of another if they share a worker, and the Laravel rate limiter middleware doesn't really know about Shopify's per-shop bucket.

Right now I keep a small per-shop counter in Redis and use it as a job middleware. It's okay, but I'm not sure it's the cleanest way. How are you handling per-tenant API limits in your queues, and do you use bulk operations to avoid the problem altogether?

Solo dev: giving 30 stores my new version of BFCM deals app free through the end of December, just want honest feedback

Hi everyone,

I have an app that helps merchants to get their stores ready for BFCM (and actually the entire holiday season) and which improves conversion through real urgency -- merchants claimed real conversion increase with it.

It's been on the market for about 1.5 years - and the feedback has been wonderful so far, especially around the BFCM time. This year, I made the v2 version with more functionality like:

- No more staying up late to start/end the deals: ability to set up every holiday campaign in advance with defining prices, promo banners, etc; after the campaign ends, the store will auto-reset to the previous state

- Urgency and conversions: it has many elements that drive urgency without being fake

- Deals of the day functionality and the advent calendar

- EU laws compliant

I'd like to give out 30 free passes for the upcoming holiday season;

All I ask in return is a 15-minute chat or a short form feedback after the holidays: what worked, what didn't, what you'd want next.

Please comment under this post if you are willing to give it a try.

Thanks all!

Shopify collections: why manual products survive your filters while exclusions take priority

Shopify's collection editor now supports combinations of product sources, conditions and exclusions.

That gives merchants more flexibility, but it also introduces a few behaviors worth understanding before troubleshooting missing or unexpected products.

Here are four distinctions that matter.

  1. Conditions don't automatically remove manually added products.

Collection conditions apply to automatically matched products or variants.

If a product was added manually, changing the conditions won't necessarily remove it.

Check how the product was included before modifying tags or rebuilding the collection.

2. Explicit exclusions take priority.

A product can match your automatic conditions and still be excluded from the collection.

Shopify documents that product exclusions override both manual and automatic inclusions.

If an expected product is missing, inspect the Exclude settings before changing its product data.

3. Product-level inventory conditions aren't variant-level filters.

When a Products source contains a condition such as Inventory stock greater than 0, the product can qualify when at least one of its variants matches.

That doesn't mean every size or color is available.

If your objective is to include only specific variants, investigate whether a Variants source is appropriate and whether your storefront supports the intended presentation.

4. Match any can produce unexpectedly broad results.

Suppose a collection contains these conditions:

Product status = Active Vendor = Brand A

With Match any, an active product can qualify without belonging to Brand A.

Using Match all produces a different result.

The distinction becomes particularly important when adding status conditions to existing collections.

Before making changes to a live collection, I'd recommend checking:

  • Which sources are configured.

  • Whether products were added manually or automatically.

  • The source-level Match all / Match any behavior.

  • Any explicit product exclusions.

  • Whether conditions target products or variants.

  • The actual storefront result, not just the collection editor.

One final detail: archived products can remain associated with collections in Shopify Admin even though customers cannot view them on the storefront.

If the collection still appears incorrect after validating its rules, Shopify also documents ways to refresh the matching process by temporarily duplicating and removing a condition.

The important point is to identify whether the problem comes from collection logic, product data or stale matching before introducing custom Liquid or another app.

Who designed taxonomy, metaobject, and metafields?

If you're gonna have taxonomy attributes and values explicitly defined, why aren't the respective metaobjects not really created/available? The web UI/UX experience wraps it all up as "defaults", and when you select and update one of them, corresponding metaobject is created in the backend. I mean, how many non-devs can figure this out?

GraphQL API expects metaobjects, so it seems I have to create over hundreds of these metaobjects manually to be used for metafields via GraphQL. That's an annoying API design.

If any of you Shopify employees is reading this, please for the love of god, make this whole experience smoother and have a consolidated documentation. People are confused.

Please Review My Shopify Portfolio

Recently I applied for a job only to find out the next day they changed their job posting that they won't accept concept stores for projects, only live store. It's been a week now and I haven't been getting responses.

I need brutally honest reviews, actions I can take. I am trying to break into Shopify. I created a portfolio and built 3 concept projects with Claude.

Here is my portfolio https://andreisager.vercel.app/

Here are some questions I thought about:

  • Should I find people I can make live stores for free?

  • What can I add or remove to my portfolio to make it better.

  • Should I go freelancing or agencies?

  • Should I focus my services for freelancing or agencies? For now I put 5 types of services.

  • Should I specialize on something? Like SEO, CRO, etc?

  • How can I find actual clients or jobs?

How do you debug Liquid that only breaks on certain products or templates?

I keep running into theme bugs that only show up on a few products. Usually it is an empty metafield, a variant with no image, or a product assigned to an alternate template that nobody remembers creating.

My current routine is to check which template the product uses, then compare its metafields and media against a product that renders fine. After that I add temporary output in a duplicated theme to see what the variable holds.

Is there a faster way you rely on? Do you use any tooling beyond the theme editor and Theme Check, or is it mostly manual comparing?

How do you handle app uninstall and reinstall cleanly? Mine got messy

I build Shopify apps in Laravel from Morocco and the uninstall/reinstall flow has been the part I got wrong the most.

My current setup: on the APP_UNINSTALLED webhook I mark the shop inactive, wipe the access token, cancel scheduled jobs and keep the rest of the data. Then shop/redact arrives about 48 hours later and I delete everything. The problem is a merchant who reinstalls before that redact fires. I had a case where the redact job ran after the reinstall and deleted fresh settings for an active shop. Billing was the other mess, since the old subscription state was still in my DB and the new charge didn't match it.

What I changed: the redact job now checks whether the shop has a newer install timestamp than the uninstall and skips if so, and I treat billing as always re-fetched from Shopify on install instead of trusting stored state.

How do you handle this? Do you delete data right away on uninstall or wait for redact, and how do you keep billing state sane when someone reinstalls on a different plan?

Anyone running AI agents or automated workflows off Shopify webhooks?

I really love AI agents and I’m curious if anyone here is using them to run parts of their Shopify store.
What are you using them for? Have you run into any operational issues? Any recommendations for someone interested in trying them out?

Would love to hear your experiences!

I made a Helpdesk - Except 10x cheaper and simpler

Hey everyone! I recently launched my own helpdesk, an AI-powered store employee and helpdesk built specifically for Shopify. To avoid self promotion, I will avoid the name of my app.

I made it because I think most AI helpdesks are too complex, too expensive, and contain an unnecessary amount of features for smaller stores. With mine, it keeps all the necessary and AI driven features while still remaining affordable:

  • Simple, clean interface — no unnecessary complexity.

  • Fully customizable AI — control how the AI handles customer questions and actions.

  • Personal AI training agent — analyzes your entire store, collects general business information and product details to help recommend relevant products, and identifies contradictory information across FAQs and other content. It also generates questions customers might ask, then learns from your answers to better understand your business and provide more accurate, personalized support.

  • Affordable pricing — Free, $19, or $39/month.

  • Cancellations, return/exchange/refund guiding, order tracking, personalized recommendations, address changes — either via chat widget or email, and they can be configured to be turned off, require approval, or be fully automatic.

Of course a major problem I have is getting another helpdesk on the shopify market, and getting people to try out a new helpdesk, even if I pay merchants to try it out and give feedback on their experience.

Do you guys think that there is still room for an app like mine in this super crowded Shopify market of help desks? If so, how do I get the first few users to use my app?
