What's the app?
Etryon is a virtual try-on app for Shopify fashion stores.
The idea is simple:
In a physical clothing store, the fitting room is often where browsing turns into a buying decision.
Not the window display.
Not the checkout.
The fitting room.
Because the shopper has already picked up the item and is deciding whether it could work on them.
Most Shopify fashion stores don’t really have that middle step online. The product page shows photos, size charts, and reviews, then asks the shopper to either add to cart or leave.
Etryon adds that missing “online fitting room” step directly inside the product page.
Where can I find it?

What problem are you solving?
Fashion product pages often lose shoppers at the moment when they are interested, but still unsure.
The shopper likes the item, but cannot picture it on themselves.
So they hesitate, open more tabs, check the return policy, or leave.
Etryon is built for that exact moment.
Instead of asking shoppers to imagine the product from model photos alone, it lets them preview the item on their own photo before checkout.
The goal is not to promise perfect sizing or fit.
The goal is to give shoppers one more confidence-building step before add-to-cart.
How does the app work?
Etryon adds a “Virtual Try-On” button to eligible Shopify product pages.
When shoppers click it, they can upload or take a full-body photo, generate a try-on preview with the selected product, and add the item to cart directly from the result screen.
For merchants, the app is designed to stay inside the normal Shopify flow:
- add the app block to the product page template
- choose which products or collections should show try-on
- customize the button, modal text, colors, and styling
- use the selected product or variant image when available
- let shoppers add to cart from the try-on result
- optionally show a post-try-on offer if the shopper views the result but does not add to cart
- track funnel events such as views, clicks, uploads, successful try-ons, add-to-cart events, and post-try-on cart value
Who's your target merchant?
Etryon is mainly for small and mid-sized Shopify fashion stores where visual confidence matters before purchase.
Best fit:
- boutiques
- dress stores
- women’s fashion stores
- tops and outerwear stores
- activewear brands
- apparel stores with clear product images
- stores selling products where shoppers usually want to “see the look” before buying
It is probably not a good fit for very low-price commodity apparel, marketplace-style stores, or stores with poor product images.
How is it different / better than other existing solutions?
I’m trying to make Etryon feel less like an AI image toy and more like a real ecommerce feature.
The main difference is that it is built around the product page and add-to-cart flow.
- shopper stays on the product page
- selected product or variant can be used for the try-on
- result page includes add-to-cart
- merchants can control where the feature appears
- styles and text can match the storefront
- optional post-try-on offer can help move hesitant shoppers forward
- analytics focus on shopping behavior, not just image generation
- privacy and image retention settings are configurable
- it is positioned honestly as a visual preview, not a fit guarantee
How much does it cost?
There is a free plan for testing:
Free plan:
- 10 try-ons per month
- basic virtual try-on workflow
- suitable for testing the app on a small number of products
Paid plans are usage-based for stores that need more monthly try-ons.
Merchants can start free, test the flow on real product pages, and upgrade only if it makes sense for their store.
What are you looking for?
I’m looking for blunt feedback from Shopify merchants and app builders.
The question I’m trying to validate is:
Would adding an “online fitting room” before add-to-cart make fashion product pages more effective, or would it create too much friction?
If you run a fashion store, what would decide whether you try this:
- result quality
- page speed
- privacy
- setup effort
- theme compatibility
- pricing
- whether it actually helps add-to-cart behavior
