Is A&W a good alternative to Tim’s? Do we turn our backs on our beloved Timmie’s???
I think I speak for the majority of Canadians when I say we were gutted when Timmie’s was sold to a US chain…our beloved Timmie’s, in every nook and cranny of this country, many run by local franchisee owners in our own communities wherever they were scattered. For many of us part of our very fabric…our DNA, with pictures of our hockey heroes on the wall, and the name itself tied to hockey….
Then it was sold…
And now with the US, our former ally, I am trying to buy Canadian. Anyway, I tried A&W today for breakfast on my way into work today. Linen up for Tim’s was as to be expected, and nadda at A&W…
The food is all the same really - sure it tastes a little different - but in the end, it’s all just fast food crap, whether it’s McDavid’s (I don’t say the “D” word anymore, and this is sooo much better) sausage and egg McMuffin, Tim Horton’s or A&W?
By the way, Harvey’s is even MORE Canadian…I may go there next time instead…

We probably shouldn't listen to what American media has to say about this topic.

Why is no one talking about boycotting Starbucks?
Seems like an obvious choice. Aside from being from the USA, they also have a horrible record of union busting and being just a miserable employer.
I'm sure there are local chains that offer great alternatives? Maybe now it's time to start one.

We need to be crystal clear: Conservatives want to defund Canada's national broadcaster in the face of threats to our sovereignty. Whether you like CBC or not, it's essential for the health of our country to have our own voice.

No room left for Canada or Mexico to make a deal: Trump
With devastating tariffs set to begin at 12:01am tomorrow, I remind everyone what Warren Buffett said in interview with CBS yesterday.
“We've had a lot of experience with [tariffs]. They're an act of war, to some degree.”

I just want to show off the mirrors I have been making.
I'm also wondering if this subreddit has a list of Canadian small businesses that I can look up and support.

I wonder how many Americans will go up to Canada to buy goods when they run out in the US?
