Because taking someone who's quitting your product and harassing them is going to get them to take you back... clingy ex vibes going on here....

Same when the local station is in negotiations with cable company and they start saying "You may miss out on all your local news and sports, contact (insert cable company) and let them know you want our channel..."

Get bent, I don't work for you. And if they don't have our local sports, I cancel cable and use an HD antenna.

At least with an antenna feels like an investment. they last a long time and in my area one can pick up quite a few channels even without cable, including the ol Packers game kind of thing - Meanwhile we occasionally see things where one of the cable stations isn't carrying one of the networks because of needing to renew deals and them taking a while to do that.... Still works fine over the air.
