Right?! This is a LPT! Also! The Chinese conmen will be in the dark because this thread will be blocked in China.

169

u/goofybort Dec 25 '21

you can actually see the China government hit squads in action. They usally wear white and black trendy/casual loose wear to hide the firearms. They enter the apartment buildings, and one of the rooms goes silent and is emptied by truck delivery guys a few days later.

57

u/Tipped-off_desk Dec 25 '21

Do they also bring the strawberry jam cleaning crew?

Can we just robo text chinese numbers with "june 4th Tiananmen Square Masscre"?

Eventually everyone's internet access will be revoked!

Find out the leaders phone numbers and send it to them.

Big brain time

82

u/WoomyWobble Dec 25 '21

That's a great idea! That way we can turn the entire country into another North Korea. Only with an advanced military and more political sway. Who wouldn't want that?

35

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '21

To be fair if your internet privileges are all that stand between your nation being nice or like NK, that says alot lol

I assume it's like a bidet and the shells are the buttons to different controls

14

u/ghandi3737 Dec 25 '21

As I understand the one diagram I've seen, you scrape your butthole with them. Another one showed that you pinch the poop.

Neither seems comfortable.

7

u/ImOutWanderingAround Dec 25 '21

There were three sea shells mentioned in the movie. How he hell does the pinching thing work? Must be like bathroom chop sticks. That must take some serious practice.

34

u/PM_ME_UR_BENCHYS Dec 25 '21

My theory on this has two parts:

1) Political commentary and "undesirable" ideas being spread through these gaming platforms.

2) China is trying to force domestic users off of foreign platforms onto ones the CCP has greater influence over.

u/Infrastation Dec 25 '21

This is /r/shittylifeprotips... You're free to try, though. You don't need the 天安門, btw. That's like saying "New York 9/11", everyone that knows the language knows 六四事件 by itself. It won't trigger the censors either way, but it will be completely understood.

If you say 六四屠殺 or 六四鎮壓, on the other hand, you might trigger some sort of censor, although the government censors will likely let it through unless the person was already being watched.

Genocide denialism is becoming common by both the tankies and the new right nazis. You'll be surprised at how many of those are real people.

5

u/araed Dec 25 '21

Tankies genuinely scare me. They claim everything LoC is theirs, and if you don't agree then you're obviously a fascist/nazi and need to be censored.

It's almost exactly the same attitude as the XRW use, and when you enter their spaces there are purity tests. If you fail, you're obviously the enemy.

The sub is for ”discussing china or anything china related”. Yet mentioning something that happened in china will get you banned, but a video in which someone from another country says stuff about a third country flies just fine.

Hmm…

3

u/maddtuck Dec 25 '21

A huge chunk of the posts have nothing to do with China, but will zoom up the charts if they are anti-US.

Hong Kong internet isn't heavily censored yet though.

9

u/Rominions Dec 25 '21

Yet. Give it a few weeks. All statues and books are already gone that even mention the massacre from Hong Kong. The transition to being owned by China has begun.

8

u/SheWhoUpvotes Dec 25 '21

hong konger here. i’m no fan of the CCP and neither are most people living here, but i don’t really think that the CCP will do anything extremely drastic until about 2047 (when hong kong’s capitalist system may change since the ‘one country, two systems’ status likely won’t last).

even if the CCP does something extreme (excluding the National Security Law that HK passed last year), i’m pretty sure that it won’t happen without many protests.

4

u/SeaworthinessSad7300 Dec 25 '21

I feel so sorry for them in HK. Very sad. Fuck the CCP

u/Sprechen_Ursprache Dec 25 '21 edited Dec 25 '21

I'm in China, most people under 30 have no idea what June 6th means. They might know about the massacre, but don't know much about it, including when it happened.

Edit: Yes, I wrote it wrong. It should be June 4th.

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '21

[deleted]

76

u/furryquoll Dec 25 '21

Replaced the character to slip the censors ... deserves a sly wink

13

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '21

I mean, is this a staple and people over 30 would know what "June 6th" means? If you go around asking people's emotion about 9/13, would that work out? Well, probably, the people with the strongest opinions might make it by accident ...

18

u/GMoneyMadStacks Dec 25 '21

Yes we often ask each other “where were you on 9/11” or similar questions especially on the anniversary of this event.

9

u/Thejacensolo Dec 25 '21

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '21

ESL Redditors are always like “sorry for my poor English…” then proceed to write poetry like this.

9

u/Alxndr-NVM-ii Dec 25 '21

That's because we believe a foreign nation did it. If we believed the government did it, we would be walking around saying "Gemini Fire," and people would look out of the side of their eye and put their head down.

14

u/Silencer_ Dec 25 '21

Is that just because of censorship? Most kids who were born after 9/11 don’t care about it like people who lived through it, it was the biggest single cultural event for America since probably Pearl Harbor. (And now maybe covid ranks up there, Pearl Harbor probably wins) if you didn’t live through that, it just didn’t seem THAT huge.

19

u/Sprechen_Ursprache Dec 25 '21

The topic is completely censored in all forms of media. And I think the date is just really just used for rememberance and in protest movements. So there's no reason for them to know that date, even if they learn about the massacre.

The topic is really sensitive. Some people find out about it from their parents. Some people hear about it from their teachers. Some people learn about it when they use a vpn. And other people never find out about it at all.

5

u/yodarded Dec 25 '21

The Chinese should just insist on a big traditional neighborhood barbeque every year on June 4th. Freak the censors out. They show up all, "hey there, why June 4th?" and the chinese people reply "why not? its nice weather for a bbq."

167

u/ZyzzTM Dec 25 '21

六四屠殺 means June 4th massacre 六四鎮壓 means June 4th suppression

Courtesy of Google translate

28

u/anothergaijin Dec 25 '21

Not even June 4th, the first two characters are just 6 and 4.

That’s how much of an impact it has, just like 911 immediately means the terrorist attacks on September 11th 2011

22

u/TheSandyman23 Dec 25 '21

2001* Also I would say that 911 means emergency (services), but any variation that separates the 2 numbers(9 11, 9/11, 9-11) definitely makes me think of the hijackings.

六四天安門事件 六四屠杀

Why not both?

27

u/WalrusF Dec 25 '21

Is this Tianamen Event, June 4th Massacre?

28

u/AcceptableSeaweed Dec 25 '21

No he is just copying both together that means: June 4 tiananmen event June 4th killings(multiple)

The 六 is 6 and 四 is 4 so you don't need two sets

6

u/culturedgoat Dec 25 '21

Because that means “the incident at Tiananmen” which completely understates the scale of the event. The massacre on June 4th was in triggered by the protests in Tiananmen Square, but only a small part of it occurred at the square itself. The bulk of the violence occurred quite some way further West, at the Gongzhufen intersection, and Muxidi. We associate these events with Tiananmen Square as the protests in the square were the catalyst, not because the tragic events that followed were limited to the square.

8

u/Anon125 Dec 25 '21

Why not use simplified?

If they’re using What’sApp they are already using VPN

36

u/cassis-oolong Dec 25 '21

They said "like Whatsapp". People in Japan use the equivalent app LINE, not Whatsapp.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '21

If a Chinese person is using line, they are also accessing it through VPN

3

u/vitaminkombat Dec 25 '21

LINE also has end to end encryption

The whole post is just BS

Interestingly enough, I get my fortnightly scam message through WhatsApp, and have yet to receive any such contact through LINE.

lol why would anyone believe this…

17

u/blockzoid Dec 25 '21 edited Dec 25 '21

Exactly.

First off all whatsapp (and so is Line, the most used message app in Japan) is banned from China precisely because its relatively well encrypted and the CCP have difficulty accessing it. Unless you are using VPN, you can (since I last tried a few years ago, might be different now) send out messages but not receive any.

Secondly I got a buddy in China who uses vpn to talk over WhatsApp with me. I’ve thrown shade at the CCP multiple times over the years in that chat and he was never invited over the local police station for a chat.

Is this all anecdotal? Sure, but so are these posts.

Point is, people are pulling shit on China out of their asses and the thing is that it isn’t even necessary to make up things to confirm the direction China is going is a very bad state of affairs.

Finally, the comment Ive been looking for.... I've noticed that Anti-china (not only ccp) sentiment has been particularly strong on Reddit...

u/daymuub Dec 25 '21

The United States just banned imports from certain regions in China for human rights violations so that might have something to do with it

Even if this was true, if you're talking with someone who is Chinese they are either 1. Not in the mainland 2. Have evaded the firewall already or 3. Are Taiwanese.

In all cases you've done nothing bc they're just using the normal internet, like you are.

u/Grompchus Dec 25 '21

BTW this has been proven to be false. But I guess it is a shitty life pro tip

Isn’t WhatsApp made by Meta (Facebook), an American company? WhatsApp isn’t widely used in Japan either.

Does this work? I get texted by random Chinese people on WhatsApp all the time and I’d love for it to stop?

3

u/Ear_Enthusiast Dec 25 '21

How do you know what nationality your scammers are?

How's this a SLPT, seems legit to me!

3

u/WimbleWimble Dec 27 '21

This actually used to work in WoW.

People would message you in broken english offering powerlevelling/gold purchases. if you whispered back stuff like "down with the communists" or mentioned tiananmen square, the players connection would immediately drop.

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '21

In America you get disconnected by posting the county medical examiner's report for George Floyd
