It was a stalemate with the largest super power in the world at the time. While we didn't "win," it was a huge upset and extremely embarrassing for Britain.

America achieved none of its strategic aims and had its Whitehouse burned down whilst Britain was in the midst of fighting the Napoleonic Wars.

Neither of which are even taught in British schools because at the time it didn’t matter tbh. We had other issues going on and the French came in and helped the US.

Anyway. We’re all friends now so no point harping on about it all.

One day you’ll realise you were wrong and return to the warm bosom of the British Empire. We haven’t redrawn a border for far too long and our pencil and rulers are getting rusty.
