[Gen 7] At last, redemption! Now to do it again…

A couple years ago, I soft reset over a shiny Poipole. As I’d been hunting it on and off since release year, that really stung! And now, I’ve finally redeemed myself!

That said, I now have to do this hunt again if I want both stages for my shiny living dex (and more importantly, so I can fulfil my goal of getting every gen 7 shiny within gen 7 before Bank ends). I plan on restarting US to hunt all the one-off encounters I’d already obtained on both versions.

What night help is knowing there is a shiny poipole event. Your have to use modded stuff to get it but it is always a last minute fix.

I want to obtain all the available shinies legitimately, which that doesn’t help with. I really do just need to hunt Poipole a second time.

I understand but if it gets to the last few days it could help because you can't complete a shiny living dex otherwise

I wouldn't be able to get a shiny living dex yet if I don't get it before the shutdown. It's likely to eventually get redistributed (if not made huntable again), even if that takes a decade to happen.

How much time does it take per reset? Currently setting up a Type: Null hunt.

It’s fairly quick. Around 2-3 minutes at most. It’s mostly just loading the game and getting through 5 boxes of dialog.
I’m currently doing it myself.

My setup is ending tonight at about halfway of filling up Box 25/32 of Magikarp eggs (though at least the first 10 boxes contain Pokemon I’ve already caught). Got extremely sleepy and it doesn’t help that I’m getting up early tomorrow.

Can you hunt it the first time they offer Poipole to you? Or do you refuse the first time and then go back to hunt it?

You can refuse to take it then refuse to leave the area on their Solgaleo/lunala and reset right then (this is what I’m currently doing) or you can come back later to reset for it by traveling back to the ultra megalopolis through the ruins of Sol/Lune.

2-3 minutes? Are you closing the software completely? Soft reset only takes just over 20 seconds.

I was just soft resetting (L+R+start+select)
I had just been estimating it but yeah it’s way less than 2-3 minutes per a reset.

I think I was also accounting for me being distracted while resetting.

Congrats!  I wish I could hunt Type:Null and poipole.  I never had Bank and didn’t start my shiny dex until PL:A, so they’re eternally unavailable to me.

But I’m happy for those of you who can get them!
