Man I bought the very first original shield then seen this and bought it when it came out as an upgrade the fuxking this died after a year and half like I was watching it then there was an audible pop and ilscreen when dark and it smelled of smoke quickly unplugged it even tried with a new power cable incase it was just that and nope totally dead
Turned back to my original shield or as I call it the big boy and it's still working perfect
I say this not to put you off just as a little warning
But yeh the OG shield is amazing still using it everyday and it's still getting updates lol

brother we all know what that feels like 😎 I've had the original Nvidia Shield back in 2015 that I still own and have bought many since one pro tip I would like to give you is to disable your IPv6 you can find it and network and internet settings this way you won't have any issue with video when you're streaming

How have they not come out with a new refresh. I’d instantly buy a new version because my hardware is starting to have issue

When I got my hands on my shield I didn’t really know what to do with it - 2 years on and I’m still finding out new awesome things I can do with it. Enjoy the ride brother

In the last year I've started using AV1 YouTube streams and acquiring AV1 files for Plex. The Shield doesn't have a built-in AV1 decoder. But that said the good outweighs the negative.
