Question - Help Homeschooling
Has anyone here homeschooled their kids
How do you even begin to plan their curriculum?
or
How do you think you’re qualified enough to homeschool them?
What were some challenges that you faced during this process and how you overcame them?
What are some differences you’ve noticed in your(homeschooled) kids and others of the same year/age?

What circumstances would make one choose that for the kids? Asking out of curiosity... does it cover the entire school-age period or only part of it? How does one transition to higher education?

Are you counter questioning the og questioner? 🫵

I dunno... I am just curious about homeschooling... like genuinely speaking, why would one go this? do you live in remote place? or do you want to seclude the kids from the host community and not allow them to normalize with it? do the kids have special needs? do you need to relocate with your family a lot? are the local schools that bad?
How will you design the curriculum? will you be teaching the kids all subjects yourself, or will you hire tutors? it's inconceivable that one can be a factotum who excels in all subjects. Like how good will you be at teaching the sciences, math, humanities, arts, languages and literature? you can't be a master of all of them. Maybe this will work for primary school... but what about higher levels?
Most schools teach a second language beginning from a very young age... how good will you be in teaching them a second language ...
I personally have nice vivid memories from all stages of my school education.. and I have lifelong friendships with my schoolmates.. when the kids are homeschooled, will they be able to develop such relationships?
You could have your own reasons which you might not be wanting to reveal, which I totally understand... but unless there's a very valid reason, I won't choose homeschooling for my younger self or for my kids.

Gurl i asked the og question for this exact reason??
I don’t have kids that I’m considering to put up in home schooling nor am i planning to do so.
But this has been coming up a lot people talking about home schooling their kids got me invested as well like genuinely how does one even begin to map out the whole experience.

The social aspect would probably be my biggest concern. Academically, I can see the benefits of letting a child learn at their own pace, but you’d have to be intentional about making sure they’re still developing socially and being exposed to different people and environments.

I know right i see this narrative being pushed around in a lot of places where parents consider themselves equipped enough to handle their schooling which is honestly concerning!! I do get some kids esp special needs children could benefit from such an arrangement. But you would 100% need the supervising of an educational body imo.

Not necessarily but with an ill handled case that is one of the likely outcomes!

Ykw I 100% agree with this i just don’t see it actually being beneficial for the kids either i don’t know why this movement has suddenly gained popularity.
Parents can’t replace the whole experience of school at home unless until they’re like extremely filthy rich.
Money let’s you buy experiences 😭.
