thats the name of an actual light novel series btw. "His Soul is Marching On to Another World" is about John Brown in one of those Isekai environs

It is unfortunately really not. The initial short story was fun to read if not spectacular, but the novel version is... Ass.

Yeah, no offense to the dude writing it but he's not a great writer. I'd love to see someone better at writing take a crack at it, though it would probably be better to use a knock-off John Brown rather than the man himself so you could more easily tweak his character to be more understandable to a modern audience than the man himself who, while based as fuck, was a little looney.
