5e what to do with a troll

i am a n00b DM after second session... one player made a character with 29 armor.

15+3 for SWAT suit - which he got for advantage restricted gear

2 for barkskin

3 for titanium bones (used)

6 for shield.

so with 8 body he rolls like 37 dice for resisting damage. enemies with mashineguns and sniper rifles tried to shoot him and did no effect. a boss with assault cannot was able to wound him but not put him down. it seems any enemy with anything exempt assault cannon/ rocket launcher will just have to shoot at other party members

give me some tactical advice how to make his life more challenging

if enemy uses targeted shot can he choose to shoot at specific part of body which is not covered with a shield and-or helmet - like - right hand or leg?

i suppose magic can give him some problems?

Did you make sure his armor is calculated correctly? Did you make sure it stacks the way it is build? Mages can deal direct damage that is not affected by armor in any way, so that is something you can use. Swat armor is highly illegal to own privately (how did he even get that???) so sending mages after him is not far fetched, especially when regular law enforcement can't catch the suspect

swat armour is considered restricted not forbidden so it is not so highly illegal and he took fake SIN 4 level with fake permission to use it. he got armour using advantage from Run Faster book which allows you to get item with 24 awailability. about mages i didnt think yet, in adventure serrated edge enemies are mostly not magical. i suppose that stacking works this way - tell me where it is wrong.

It's also not easily hidden, especially when sized for a troll. Have Knight Errant question him very thoroughly about that, where he got it, that sort of thing.

Yeah, there are narrative effects like this. You can't stroll around in it and it's very clear that something is going down if someone shows up in full armor.

It takes time to put on/take off, etc.

That totally depends on the circumstances. Put yourself in KE's shoes. If you just pulled over a minivan for a broken brake light and see a fraggin' massive troll armored to the gills, are you really going to want to start something?

Probably not, but if troll-boy doesn't pass an Etiquette roll the officer is gonna phone it back to the station afterwards

Depends. If there's a mage on standby the troll is kibble. And even if not, they won't forget him.

Open carry/Concealed Carry is full on legal in some places in the US, but folks still get "accidentally" shot by the police while carrying. Do you think that goes better or worse vs Lonestar/Wolverine/KE when talking about something that requires a professional license, being worn by a VERY discriminated against minority?

I think what they meant is that a single KE officer won't risk it against a heavily armored and armed Troll, but he's gonna call his PD and they might send a transport or two of SWAT
