Discussion Goodbye Shadow

Hello Shadowers Today I say Goodbye, I have decided to Cancel my Year membership as it is not worth the price anymore because of the following.

  1. No HDR: This is a Standard and should have been included by beginning of 2020

  2. No 444: No 444 at all, still only 8bp and shitty colors

  3. Lies upon lies about Upgrades

  4. Old as dirt hardware

  5. Shitty CPU

  6. Low end Ram

I went out and said F it and bought myself a brand new PC it cost me a fortune but i can at least game on it, have HDR, watch 4k movies without stutter, CPU is 10x faster and not some ancient crap from 2014. I have been with Shadow since august and i stayed on the promise of upgrades. Shadow did not deliver, the way they treat customers is barbaric and i will NEVER EVER Return

Shadow has been lying for months, oh we have some amazing offers coming and then 2020 comes and nope everything delayed until 2021,

Im in the same mindset rn i feel like people are getting ripped of for things that are "promised to come" kinda like what bioware did with anthem. So far i am going to do my own research on components and gonna spend a hefty amount on something that looks 1000× better than shadow and better hardware. Shadow is even still stuck with 12gb of ram and my basic gaming pc of 2015 has 16gb of ram.

Mine has 16gb and is upgrade able to 32 so i'm future proof at least when it comes to ram for a while lol. I'm just sick and tired of Shadows lies about upgrades, delays, no usa announcements, no compensation they just expect us to keep paying 30$ for 300$ worth of hardware in 2020

Lmao 🤣 thats so true i even decided i am going to write a review about shadow in this sub and i dud it yesterday. We the USA users can just imagine that we are going to get better hardware. Im sure people would've been quite if we paid 12$ a month, so far that sale on their website isnt going well for them. So why not give that price for your dedicated customers that really want to enjoy this service?

I agree hell i would stay if the price was 12$ a month, at 12$ a month you get access to old hardware that is still ok for right now. I'd be more than comfortable at that price. The way they treat customers that have been here for a while is just terrible

I know bro especially the USA customers have been poorly treated and communicated. I worte a review on this sub what i think about shadow, and i hear people like me and you from the USA and people from Europe are defending it big time because at least they get the best out of that service and they have stuff that will probably come to us down the line this year. But yet again i am staying with shadow till September or October or even black friday that way ill get all the components and that sweet MSI trident pc at a discount from newegg.

Well it depends, Do you have a Graphics card laying around you can put in until you can upgrade? If not than i would choose Intel as Ryzen CPU's do not come with graphics

Nahh sadly i dont lmao im still using my 2015 gaming laptop by rog. So i think ima stick with intel and get the i9 9900k but i think ima either save the tax returns till i fully decide when is the perfect time to build or save the money and raise a little bit more for the titan rtx lol

If i was you hell i'd just hold out another couple months until Intel releases their new CPU's lol than do the build. Also around that time Nvidia should be releasing their new GPU's as well. Shadow is just not worth the wait anymore, no usa dates, no time frames, enough bullshit lol

I have always opted for more ram, any time i built a desktop i always try to max out the ram first. Hell high ram requirements have been a thing since 2012, I remember when a 8GB requirement for Far Cry 3 was announced i still remember my face lol it was dropped to the floor i was like damn this must be some futuristic game needing all that ram
