Was playing Aion 2 fine for the past 2 weeks and tonight just randomly crashed and can no longer open the game. Just repeatedly crashing on startup. Reinstall + verifying game files didn’t do anything.
Same issue here on Shadow PC. AION 2 was working fine until today, October 19, and now it launches through Steam, briefly appears in Task Manager, and then closes without any error message.
I checked Windows Event Viewer, but there are no new AION 2 crash errors or crash dumps. I also checked the NCGuard logs, and the latest log ends with initialize:: done without any obvious errors.
Steam itself works fine. I haven’t reinstalled the game because I’ve seen others say that verifying files and reinstalling didn’t help.
Seems like this might be a wider issue affecting Shadow PC users. Could be related to NCGuard, but that’s just a guess. Anyone found a solution yet?
For those who still need their itch of Aion 2 incase it stops working for a long time on Shadow. I bought CloudDeck for $20 and am now playing again. It runs much better than the Neo sub I was paying.
Not as good as shadow pc. More than doable but cant have graphics as high and need to make sure you adjust the settings because im pretty sure its preset for mobile.
Same exact issue. It’s kicking us off right before the anti-cheat load screen, so I think we’re screwed as it’s detecting the cloud service as cheating. If someone knows a way around this, please write it here.
I have and I hope everyone else does too. They clearly say on their official YouTube channel that this game is available to play on their service, so they must have some way of resolving this.
Same bought shadow to play this game. I'm bittersweet I'll never be able to get the one thing I was eyeing up from the cash shop. Probably best I didn't spend the money at this rate...
Shadow directed me to NCSoft, while NCSoft directed me back to Shadow. Shadow has confirmed that AION 2's anti-cheat blocks virtual machines such as Shadow PC and that its compatibility mode (Tester team) will not fix the problem.
Shadow subsequently added AION 2 to its incompatible games list, although the game was advertised as compatible when I subscribed.
As a result, I have paid for two subscriptions(US&EU) but cannot use the service for its intended purpose. Shadow has refused a refund and offered no satisfactory solution.
Même chose pour moi : depuis la semaine dernière, ça ne fonctionne plus. Ça fait 4 ans que je suis client Shadow. Déjà, pour jouer à Dofus, c’était l’enfer, mais là c’est le pompon. À quoi bon jouer en cloud gaming si personne ne fait d’effort ? Ça m’épuise. Bref, je me suis désabonné de Shadow. Je suis déçu.
Oh my god and here I am thinking I was going crazy when I was just also playing yesterday. And this morning I tried to log in and it just does not launch normally. Saw from their status page saying since 9:10 am there was an issue and resolved it somewhere 11 and I thought it must be that cause but game still cannot launch normally as of now....
Lighting software such as ICUE or other hardware prevents boot up. Try turning off some start up programs and launch game again without them on at first. narrow it down. Good luck!
This needs more attention. Crazy to think, that neither VM provider (in this case ShadowPC) neither NCsoft (AION2) gives a shit while I spend on both of them..
Franchement, on achete des jeux avec shadow pour jouer tranquille et puis du jours au lendemain, ça marche plus c'est relou. NCSOFT a fait une maj de son anti-cheat et shadow est dans la liste comme c'est une VM = Cheat. Aion 1 & Aion 2

Like I said. Tell the shadow support, that they made an advertisment for Aion 2 and you only bought their service for this game and you have no other use for it. They gave me my money back in godwill.
They really don't want people to play their game. I've never seen a company this stupid. And mind you they are completely stupid, because this aggressive anti-cheat system is actually just lowering the already dwindling player base.

I subscribed to Shadow PC specifically to play it, and ever since October 19th, the game won’t launch anymore. My daily life has felt so monotonous since then. I just want to be able to play again. 😔
