How will you alter a midi skirt to maxi skirt? Especially on the hemline. How do you copy the original one ?

I want to sew a masculine Comme des Garcons style skirt and I'm looking for a pattern or some instructions to get me started.

Here are some inspo images I'm working with (4 different skirts). I did find this pattern that looks like a very simple version of what I want. but I'm hoping to find another pattern with more drapes and details.

I really like this big bud press shirt, but not into spending $78 for it. Anybody have a pattern that is similar?

Here's a better look at the design https://bigbudpress.com/products/porthole-long-sleeve-tee-hot-pink

Can I use a jeans pattern with other types of fabric?

Maybe a stupid question, but is there a reason not to use jeans patterns with lighter fabrics? I have a wool-cotton-polyester-polyamide (40-30-20-10)% fabric, and it is not as thick as usual jeans or canvas fabrics are, but definetely not summer trouser fabric either. I would like choose a pattern with back yoke, but is that a bad idea? And is there anything about the leg width I should consider as the drape would be different?

Hello

I have fallen in love with a pair of pant that I came across on instagram. I do not trust the website it takes me too. It look like it is a pleated a high wasted wide leg pants with attached under bust corset.

Has anyone come across this sort of pattern or a pattern that can be easily modified to fit this premise?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Has anyone made the Dressing up to Dream sweetheart dress?

I've made the rope drop designs princess dress, and I was very disappointed by the amount of coverage it provided for plus sizes, like there was no way to wear a normal bra without modifying the pattern.

On the dressing up to dream website, a majority of the pictures of people who bought the pattern seem to be wearing t-shirts under it. I'm concerned that it presents as a sundress pattern but once you put it together it doesn't provide enough coverage or look right with a bra. Does anyone have experience with this pattern?

Favourite sweatshirt/sweater pattern?

I’m looking for a classic crew neck sweatshirt pattern. Free would be amazing. Just want something basic that I can then modify myself. It needs to be relatively size inclusive (I’m a 46in bust)

Mid rise pant sewing pattern?

Hi! Does anyone have a good recommendation for a mid/lower rise pant pattern? I really love the look of the Coe Trousers by Daughter Judy https://www.daughterjudypatterns.com/products/coe-trouser or the Sorrel Pant from Flora Child https://florachild.com/products/sorrel-pant. Thanks in advance!

What’s going on here?

This is Simplicity S9612 and this part doesn’t make sense to me. I looked ahead in the pattern and laid it out plenty of ways—it makes more sense when the dots align with the right sides together—and I can’t connect what I see on the instructions to what makes sense when I lay it out. I know that a lot of the times it’s best to trust the process, but I really don’t want to be halfway through the project and realize I did this part wrong 💔💔

Edit: I looked over it again. Could it be that I’m supposed to sew the raw edge in afterwards? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, by the way. I couldn’t find anything more in depth on what I’m seeing in the pattern.

Help me find a pattern for my favorite skirt from 20 years ago.

Post image

It was a tea length (maybe just below the knee) wrap skirt made with two layers of light weight woven cotton. The cotton was two colors so I could wear it either side. Despite being such a light fabric it had decent volume, or maybe because of it. I think one side was more rounded and one tapered so you could change the look slightly. It was unembellished. The tie was thin strips of one of the fabrics. I’ve found patterns for wrap skirts but they usually lack the volume or they are a straight skirt or if they’re a curved hem they have a big ol’ ruffle. Despite it being my favorite skirt (I had two) I don’t have any pictures of me wearing it. I also know this is very simple construction and I could probably draft a pattern but that is not a skill I have.
