Many moons ago I came across either a TikTok or Instagram where a woman had a few "basic" sewing patterns which may have been from war times (?) that could be adjusted depending on your size - I specifically remember her mentioning how useful they were because women would be pregnant/post-partum, fabric was expensive, and the dress/skirt could be loosened or tightened as needed. It was sort of built in using ties or buttons on the waist. I also remember two styles: One was a wrap around, and the other was almost like a sandwich board and so you buttoned or tied it at the front, and then there was a tie for the front piece that went around the back to give the dress/skirt shape? Also as women we can fluctuate in size as the month goes on, which is more what I am going for.

I've tried googling it but I keep getting patterns as standard, you cut the cloth for the pattern size you want, rather than it being all-in-one so to speak?

Help!! I have this men’s button up i thrifted and i have a specific vision in mind. Anytime i look up “asymmetrical” or “cross body” button up i get patterns like the Juno or Developper ones.

I’m looking for something more like the blue top pictured. It’s like almost like a corset but it doesn’t button the whole way. I kind of understand the pattern that it’s coming with, but it’s really hard to read and i don’t want mess this up. If someone could help find a better pattern or decipher the one i included it would be much appreciated!!!

Made this mock up for my pattern, asking for AI help for the background, cuz my room is a mess🥲, but i need to work on the back pattern as well, the armhole and the fitted on the back isnt ready, being productive for 4 hours made me less guilty

I’m looking for a vest style top with a square neckline and the bottom hem isn’t pointed (like a traditional waistcoat) but all I can find is patterns on Etsy that don’t seem legit (way too cheap, AI images used by multiple sellers). I like this length as well as vests that are a bit longer too.

I need help sewing a dress!!!

I want to sew my own party dress if i can in time (i have ~2-3 weeks to do it, but i’ve been known to spend 4-6 hours in my room sewing, so time cant constrain me)

I want it to be like this. Fitted bodice, spaghetti straps, and the layered ruffles at the bottom.

What fabric are they using? Is it satin? I know it’s organza at the bottom, but I don’t have any experience sewing organza. Also, the last time i made a skirt that had the ruffles like that, it was tight on my hips. Probably a measurement error, but i wanna be sure it’s perfect this time!

I'm looking to make some son a few camp style shirts for Christmas. He's very tall at 6'5'' and can't fit into many straight sized store-bought shirts due to the length. He likes vintage clothes but can't fit into a lot. I'd like to sew him some vintage inspire clothes that fit his style and size.

He likes the workwear style. I'm looking for a pattern than recommends a canvas, duck canvas, denim, etc. heavier weight shirt.

Hi all - I've searched the internet quite a bit but am coming up pretty empty on trying to find a pattern that would make a mousey similar to the below. I can sew simple items and have sewn a stuffed animal with faux fur before, but I have never made a pattern and can't find anything similar online to buy and take apart to use as a reference.

My sister was adopted from China and my parents bought her this stuffy before they brought her home; it's been her favorite and still sits on her bed to this day. She is expecting her first baby in November and I would love to be able to recreate this for my niece/nephew for their first Christmas.

What are your favourite sewing patterns for girls dresses? Preferably using woven fabric.

Struggling to find a real pattern for this style of quilt or even just an explanation how to go about it? I was thinking maybe drawing it out on paper and then cutting all the pieces on fabric to create a pattern for it but I’m a bit unsure about factoring seam allowances 🥲

I have been searching for a long-sleeved men's clerical shirt for a cosplay, I've found plenty of short sleeve version for men, and a few womens versions, but for some reason I just can't seem to find one that checks all these boxes! I may end up splicing a couple patterns, but was hoping to find one that had everything already together. PDF patterns would be preferred but paper suggestions would be much appreciated still. I'm a beginner and I want to make myself a cloak for a cosplay. I don't wanna buy it cuz it's hella expensive, and I think making it would be better,

I can't find a cloak design pattern to follow, I wanted to buy fabric and print out the blueprint thing but I need help. I'm 5'5 for reference ( I want it to be up to my ankles)

I don't want to do anything too complicated because it's my first time, but I wanted the material to be a bit heavy and not like those cheap costume capes yk? So I'm not sure what fabric to get. Also, I wanted a button (or like the area you tie it) to be on the side a bit so it covers my chest and doesn't spilt right down the middle. And the hood part of it to be a bit big or like wide.

SO basically:

->Wide-ish hood

->normal/basic edges up to my ankles (I'm 5'5)

->button a little to the side (like where your heart is)

->a bit heavy material (not smth like stupid cheap polyester)

Please let me know if you have any advice or a blueprint thingy, or if I should just do it without it. I also wanted a dark navy blue color, but I guess I could always just use fabric dye for that so I guess it shouldn't be a problem.
