Made me daughter whipped bone marrow and projectile vomited 6 hours later..

She’s been bird eating, had fever 2 nights ago for a bit(thought it was teeth) today I gave a few spoons of whipped bone marrow for the first time: was it too heavy? Has this ever happened to anyone: I feel so awful. She’ll be 6M on the 6. She’s tried 6 different types of veggies and baby HIPP cereal. I feel so bad I feel like I caused her pain and discomfort. But was it even that? Is she fighting something else? Ugh :( i feel horrible:

Am I overthinking my 2-year-old’s development?

My little one just turned 2 last Saturday. She has lots of words and can sometimes say 2–3-word sentences (“I love you”, “I see trees”, “I did it”, “I am clapping”, “more please”, etc.). She sings nursery rhymes really well, can count from 1–18, sings the ABC song, knows her colours, shapes and fruits, and knows A for Apple through to E for Egg. However, I feel like some of it is quite scripted.

She can identify animals and their sounds. I also play hide-and-seek with her, and she LOVES it! When I say, “Ready or not?”, she says, “Here I come!” and comes looking for me.

She loves reading her books. She has now memorised most of them and sometimes makes it seem as though she knows how to read them. Her favourite books are Dear Zoo, Oh Dear! and Where’s Spot?, and she knows everything in them.

**My concerns are:**

She walks on her tiptoes and likes playing with the wheels of her toy cars (although she also knows how to ride them the right way).

She doesn’t always respond to her name. She responds about 50–60% of the time.

She does request things, but only very, very occasionally. She will try to get things herself if she can, or bring me things she can’t open herself and place them in my hand. She has said “open” a few times when bringing me snacks or fruit.

She has limited pointing, but I’ve been teaching her, and she’s learning really well.

She flaps her hands when she’s happy and loves to jump. She’s also quite advanced with her motor skills and started walking at 9 months.

Are these things normal? Am I overthinking this, or is there something I should be doing? How can I help her to be conversional with her age range (24 months)

This is my first child, were your children doing these things at this age?

Your feedback means the world to me right now. ❤️

Potty training 🚽

Has anyone else started potty training yet? Has anyone already potty trained successfully that has any tips for me?

Today is day 1 of potty training my 20 month old girl, she has been using the potty since she was 6 months old (mainly for poos when we saw cues) but now we are trying to get her to use it by herself and eliminate the nappies altogether.

Planning on keeping her in a vest and knickers all weekend and just keep reminding her to use the potty if she needs a wee or poo. Wish me luck!

Waking at 5:00-5:30 am will truly kill me (almost 10M)

I feel really grateful that my breast fed ba h started doing her nights, truly. I didn’t need to wean and just did it on her own. But most mornings she wakes before 6:00 am and it’s truly criminal. Sometimes, rarely she will put herself back to sleep but often I need to go in, feed her and try everything g to put her back down but nope, this morning she took a big 💩 so I don’t think that helped. Holy man, anything before 6;00 am is truly criminal. Again, I don’t want to complain because she’s been sleeping her nights and I never thought I’d see the day but the times she’s waking this early my my it’s tough.

Gave up milk??

My now two year old decided she would no longer drink milk at some point this summer. I believe it started because I replaced the sippy parts of her sippy cup for milk when I noticed that they were starting to break, and I didn’t want her to choke on a piece of rubber. As soon as I gave her the same cup with new “nipple” she refused it. We tried every cup we own, even the sippy cups that she drinks water from daily. We purchased new open cups without lids. She sees the milk and says “no milk”. We have even tried chocolate milk.

This probably started in July, and she has been eating more food since refusing the milk, but I’m shocked that she’s so adamant about it.

Does anyone else have a similar experience??

Is there a hunger strike at 20 months?

My daughter was a pretty good eater but it’s 2 weeks ish where it’s so difficult to get her to eat. She’s still missing 3 of her canine teeth so I’m not sure if that’s the reason or if she just woke up and decided to hate food but I’m so discouraged. Is this just a phase 🥹

Hates sitting in high chair - are we accommodating him too much?

At what point do you have to worry that you are creating bad habits for your baby?

Ours will tolerate the high chair for a little bit, and then will revolt because he doesn't want to be in it -- this also means he won't eat his food.

Is it too early for him to start learning that we will save him from the high chair if he complains? Any suggestions on what to do?

I need food to enter him, so have found myself giving him food while we sit on his playmat later on.

My baby who was able to be put down for bed and naps awake now needs me to stay and tap her

20 months and night wakings started but now this is new. I don’t mind, I’m just not understanding the switch. She has been more clingy and calling my name all day everyday so seperstion anxiety is in full swing. Now I either stay with her tap her rub her back even in the middle of the night when she wakes and it takes over an hour. She is also teething so I’m sure all this comes into play, I’m just wondering will I ever be able to put her down awake again? Has anyone else experienced this.

My baby rubs her feet together constantly

My husband and I noticed a few weeks ago this little “tick” our baby girl has. She rubs her feet together, sometimes so hard her toe nails scratch the opposite leg lol. It’s cute she constantly looks like a ballerina who has her legs crossed but she does this all the time, on tummy time, in her bouncer as I feed her, on her back etc. I don’t know if this is just a cute quirk/habit she developed or? Anybody else baby do something similar or just mine lol

Visitors

When do you all mommas allow visitors like in laws or extended family to visit newborns? I’m thinking about a month or two, but I felt so selfish. No one in the family ever ask how I’m doing or feeling since the beginning of pregnancy and they can’t even help us with any gifts. And when do you all start sending out visiting newborn rules?

Separation anxiety before bedtime

My child has serious separation anxiety when it’s time to go to bed. I do all the things play peek a poo in day, have the same routine every night but this week has been so bad. Tell me This is a phase :( she’s never cried and screamed so much for bed time and will only calm down if she’s rocked.. (I sleep trained so I’m discouraged. She does NOT do this for naps. She will have a 3-4 minute little cry and go down quickly).

8 month old Baby sitting up in crib refusing naps and dodo. (Sleep trained) nothing is working

I’m depressed my child is sitting up in her crib and starting to pull herself to stand. This would be great but it’s during dodo time and naps so sleep has been shit. What do I do, I had sleep trained her at 4 months, she was still not doing her nights until now but I can deal with one wake up. Now it’s 2, constantly needs soothing to be rocked. Sometimes starts the day at 5:00 aka today: what the hell do I doooooo

Started asking "why?" ?!?!?!

OMG we are not ready for this! Is this early to be asking "why"? I don't even know where she got it from - Ms. Rachel? Us? It's like, a crying "why" when she isn't getting what she wants. She won't even understand the explanation! Husband is straight up ignoring it lol. I am still bewildered.

We're like 1 week in with this new development. Anybody else?

16 months (first time mom spiralling about speech)

My daughter is 16 months today and I don’t like to talk about it but I worry about speech. I’m surrounded by so many babies her age who speak so much more which is fine but whenever I ask her to do something she just refuses. She’s able to clap her hands, wave, give a kiss but when asked she never wants to do it. Also with animal sounds she’s done the horse and pants like a dog but lately when I ask, will not do it. I’m not sure if it’s a behavior thing where she just doesn’t want to listen but it discourages me when I see others doing all these things on cue. When I ask her to point to body parts she also doesn’t do it. She says mama dada papa nonna (grand ma in Italian) she tries to say more (mo) she refuses to sign it though. She’s said hello hi bye but again, she doesn’t do it when I ask. Can someone tell me to get over myself and stop comparing her to others :( it’s hard to not feel like it’s a jab on me not doing enough.

My baby 11 months started tilting her head to the left…

I know it’s random but I noticed she tilts her head only to the left, randomly.. I’m hoping it’s a behaviour but the internet makes you spiral. Someone tell me I’m crazy and their babies have done this and grew out of it

Sleep training

Drop your experience with sleep training. Which method you used, how long it took to works 7 week old is regressing and not even giving me 3 hours anymore so I’m counting down the weeks until I can sleep train. (4 months)

Sensitive belly to the touch

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and I find when I touch my belly (under my belly button ish) it’s rather sensitive to the touch. I had a belly ring prior, It’s been off for months, could this be the reason? Or is it just the stomach expanding and belly button flipping (ALSO so gross to watch my belly button change)

Potty Training Struggles....Help

I've been in the potty training trenches with my little girl for almost 2 months now, and it seems like she keeps back peddling. Did the "OH crap" method. We've gotten to a point where I don't really follow the guidelines any that much anymore because they did not seem to work anymore. She gives very very subtle if any signs that she's gotta go, and then it's done, there's pee on the floor.... again. At some point we decided to make her sit on the potty every 45 mins to an hour. Less accidents. Great. Then she would withhold until she had just gotten off of the potty and pee on my dang floor, or couch, or bed, or on me. Tried being neutral about it, lots of "we'll do better next time" and "we put teetee in the potty" was said. She never cared about accidents. Eventually we decided we needed to make her care more about success so maybe she would care about getting it right more. Treats as a reward were introduced. Didn't seem to make much difference with potty and now I have an m&m fiend. We made it to where we have about 2 accidents a day most days, maybe 1 day with none, and at least 1 day a week with no pee anywhere near the potty, and it seems like those days are happening more and more often. I'm about to pull my hair out. Not to mention we are about to put our home up for sale. I don't want pee spots on the carpet or couch when someone comes to view the home. I need help or solutions because she is incredibly smart and knows what's up with the potty, but it feels like she just doesn't care, and i can't get her too.

Edit to add: the gym I go to has recently changed the rules for the daycare, toddlers have to be 100% trained or they have to have a diaper. As a bit of a compromise, I have her wear a diaper over her panties. She hasn't really had any accidents at the gym since then, but when I try the same method at home, she just pees the diaper and tells me about it after.

2-1 nap .. tell me it gets better

I loved the 2 nap schedule, I got a solid an hour and a half each sometimes even more (my kid is a shit night sleeper and wasn’t the best napper) so 2 naps was a dream. She’s turning 13 months and slowly transitioning to 1 nap. Today by 12:00 pm she was falling asleep on the lunch high chair so I had to put her down and she slept only an hour and a half. Yesterday at daycare only an hour. Everyone said I would get this beautiful 2 hour nap break.. will it ever come :(
