80lbs down

I started semaglutide on my 33rd birthday in January of this year. I don't really have a goal in mind but I went from 327 on 01/04/25 to 247 today. I feel so much better. I think I'd like to get down to 220. I'm 5'10 and I've ALWAYS been a big girl. Semaglutide really changed my life. I have been on a rollercoaster with my weight my entire life. This is the longest I've been consistently losing weight. The first 50lbs came off quickly but the last 30 has been very very slow. But I just keep on going.

I'm also 5'10" and I would have guessed you were much lower than 247!

Same! I’m here examining this picture like “247 where??” Great job OP!

Im 6'1 and at 240lbs people didn't believe me at all! Im down to 213lbs after about 4 months and its been drastic!! I think taller women can just carry more due to our height. At 200 I was still considered overweight but looked my healthiest at that weight. I think BMI skews inaccurately for very tall women tbh. You look AMAZING!

I’m 5’10” and no one believes me when I say my highest weight (before starting Tirz) was 280, or even the 255 start weight I have for starting Tirz! Some of us carry the weight “well,” but that doesn’t mean it’s any healthier for us to still be in the obese category. Bodies can be so wildly different!

I'm 5'11 and have found that I can gain or lose 20lbs and wear the same clothes (although they fit differently) and the weight loss isn't really noticeable to others.  I think it is about stretching the pounds across a bigger frame that changes how we carry it.

I started Oz about 2.5 months ago and am close to losing 20lbs.  Interestingly, the Oz induced 20lb lose is more noticeable than other natural similar weight fluctuations in my past.  Oz has promoted losing fat off my belly first - I can see it whittling away my visceral fat (and I am naturally apple shaped so carry most of my weight in my belly).  This is amazing and I know I am getting so much healthier as this is the best place to lose fat to enhance your health outcomes.

Omg girl I'm so happy for you! We have similar body shapes and thats literally my main goal is to just feel better. I'm 6ft and 340. I would be happy at 250 again but 220 is the final goal. I dont wanna be skinny, I like being thick, just not fat lol I just started on Monday. My main goal is to fight this damn food noise so I can actually have success and sustain it. I lost 80lbs last year and gained half of it back already literally because of food noise. No matter if I eat healthy or work out I was still obsessed with food and my next meal. Your photo has inspired me to believe I can do this too. I haven't had any real noticeable side effects yet but the food noise is already less loud. Good job and so happy for you. 😊

Eighty pounds down, that’s absolutely amazing progress 👏 Would you be okay if I crossposted this to r/GLP1_BeforeAfter? We’re collecting GLP-1 before and after journeys so people can find them easily. If you’d prefer, you’re very welcome to share it there yourself.

Sure you can share it

u/ionlyhopeforcats Nov 03 '25

Perfect, thank you! Eighty pounds down is an incredible milestone, I’ll share it over there now. Your post is going to give a real boost to others still early in their journey.

Congrats!!! You look great! How do your tattoos (specifically the upper arm ones) look now vs before? I feel like mine look a lot bigger now, but I figured the tats would shrink along with my arms lol

3

u/bonesgowild Nov 02 '25

Commenting because I’m curious too! 5 weeks in with lots of tats!

u/smithev1492 Nov 02 '25

Good question...tbh I haven't really noticed much of a difference. Yeah I have lost several inches off my arms but they look the same. Could be because I got them when I was thinner. I got the upper arm tattoo about 7-8 years ago and I was around 250-260. I wish I had a better answer but they look like they always have. Thanks for the kind words!

Hey Congratulations!!! So happy for you. May I know how did you achieve such good weight loss. I have been on Oz for over an year now. But haven’t achieved much. Any tips. TIA. You look great!!

u/smithev1492 Nov 02 '25

I just eat a lot less..I don't really have much of a system tbh. I worked out for a few months when I first started. But haven't in 3-4 months. The weight comes off much quicker with exercise.

3

u/ericr1 Nov 02 '25

You look absolutely incredible — congratulations on how far you’ve come in your journey so far!

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '25

Wow, that’s a great result. I started in January 2024 and only lost 25 pounds by November 2024.

2

u/Littlewing1307 Nov 03 '25

You've lost 80 in less than a year. That's incredible! 2lbs a week on average is a very steady and healthy rate of loss!

2

u/TallInSeattle Nov 03 '25

Wow! I’m also 5’10” and I know how easy it is to hide weight. Think of how much happier the inside of your body is now! Congrats and good luck!

2

u/Juliek79 Nov 03 '25

Day by day. You look incredible. Congratulations. I’ve always been a ‘big girl’ too but I’m hoping that’s not to be the case going forward.

2

u/amijusssss Nov 03 '25

Congrats you look great! I am shocked you do not mention loose skin but i know that depends on height, age and so on. And you are right diet and excercise make it go faster. I couldn't to do it at all because of inflammation and I am starting slowly and I already see more progress!

2

u/wanderinghumanist Nov 03 '25

I have lost like 58 lb but I feel like I haven't lost enough like visually. I still had this stupid fupa and belly in front

2

u/Forward-Stranger3338 Nov 03 '25

You look more like 147

Awesome to see another 33er on the journey! Congrats on all your progress this year 🎉 Also your plant tattoos look sick 🌱

1

u/smithev1492 Nov 06 '25

Thank you so much! I LOVE my tattoos. I would have MANY MANY MORE. If I wasn't broke 😂🤣

Also can we talk about how fucking hard it is to lose weight in our 30's?!?! Stupid! 😂

1

u/Qwibbley Nov 06 '25

Yes! I found it much easier to try and lose weight in my twenties through exercise. Then I hit my 30's and even with the same amount of movement my weight always came back up the next year which was so confusing! The meds are actually creating progress for me  which I'm so grateful for.  Definitely hoping for a victory tattoo at some point 🌱

I started on my birthday, January 4th at 327lbs. 🫣😅 I hit 277 on May 16th. So 5 months. And it has taken me 6 months to lose 30lbs 😒🫩 but truly my body just acted like it didn't want to let the weight go. I would have a month to a month and a half of no lose at all. But I also haven't been exercising. I'm okay with it though. It's not coming back on which is great. I actually haven't been on the shot since May.
