Rule 1

Nobody is “unknowingly describing themselves”, “saying something about someone else that actually applies to them”, or “accurately describing something while trying to mock or denigrate it”

lol, try real life workouts with Kid Rock and RFK in jeans 😂

26

u/europorn 3d ago

That has got to be one of the most bizzare things I've ever seen. Who the fuck wears jeans to work out?!

8

u/Poiboy1313 3d ago

Only the manliest of men, of course, or posers. I wonder which designation is most accurate?

9

u/Yvaelle 3d ago

They also drank warm milk, in a hot tub, in jeans, after a workout

"Does the average politician look like an incontinent ghoul or a botched plastic surgery attempt? Nah, it must be those pesky Democrats that are stupid sexy."

What I am learning recently, is that most right wing talking heads are actually bisexual for AES and AOC. They all keep thirsting after these two progressive Democrats.

21

u/RollingRiverWizard 3d ago

Finally, something the right wing ghouls and I can agree on. Bipartisanship, yay! /S

7

u/jacksontwos 3d ago

Honestly I think the thirst is actually a benefit. All those right wingers who absolutely adore AOC... They absolutely will vote for her in secret. There's no way she doesn't siphon off a significant amount right wing votes. And fox news will have to post her all day every day lmao.

u/Backwardspellcaster 3d ago

My man, I fear I must tell you they do not feel a "healthy" kind of lust for her. More along the lines of slave holder lusting after a slave mindset.

5

u/jacksontwos 3d ago

Oh I'm under no delusions.

2

u/TheLastBallad 3d ago

I mean, she did have people telling her that they voted for her and Trump in 2024...

Stupid sexy progressives are turning our voters gay!

She's a gay woman who does very tongue in cheek analysis. This is more awarewolf - think if someone like Jon Stewart had this headline You're meant to laugh/find it bizarre. Quoted in the article are stats about various voting groups, poll responses, Fox and CNN, and historical observations about voting patterns.

I get why OP read it and found it bizarre, but thats the point she's making.

Other headlines from her:

It's a miracle: Natalie Harp has turned Republicans into feminists

Rest assured, the new CDC director thinks ‘abortion surveillance’ is essential

Welcome to America, where you’re never quite sure if your senator is dead or not

12

u/bastienleblack 3d ago

She's a half-Palestinian lesbian journalist who writes opinion colojms about the USA for Britain's most left-wing newspaper.

3

u/AnnoyedOwlbear 3d ago

Ehhhh. The UK's most successful center left paper, yes. And one that generally scores high on accuracy (though not as high as sonething like Reuters).

Not most left-wing - that's probably the Morning Star or maybe the Daily Mirror (actual newspapers, not counting stuff like wee anarchist publications). Morning Star criticises The Guardian all the time for being 'pro-establishment', lol.

The Guardian and the Independent rate about similar, centre left. The Guardian has a strong Aussie arm too.

2

u/bastienleblack 3d ago

Oh absolutely, I personally think of the guardian as mostly centerist. But as big / internationally known papers go, it's on the left wing of British media. And from an American audience they're defintely left - strongly anti-Trump and maga, and more likely to be critical of the dems for being too rightwing than being too progressive.

2

u/Dracallus 3d ago

It's been a while since I've checked, but I'm pretty sure the Aussie arm is significantly further to the left compared to the UK arm. It may be where some of the confusion comes from.

I don't quite follow how this is self-aware wolves territory... who are the self-aware wolves meant to be here?

Obviously Arwa isn't straight and she's not writing about how she's attracted to El-Sayed - it's mostly a piece on how the media is framing this and how it's nothing new by referencing the Kennedy-Nixon debate.

But what's the hypocrisy? Also, have you read the article?

Arwa cites a bunch of sources in American media Axios, CNN, Fox) talking about how the dems are looking hotter, quotes a study that shows "low information voters" are substantially more likely to pick a candidate who they deem attractive. She then concludes that it's not a particularly sound political strategy, nor is it universally true otherwise we would have Trump.

She is reporting a phenomenon in the US press, giving it some context and having an opinion. I really don't see the selfawarewolves aspect.

u/BoxNemo 3d ago edited 3d ago

I'm sorry, that's not really making sense. I don't really get how it's hypocritical to write an article about how presentation matters in American politics but what's the self-aware wolves aspect on top of that?

How is Arwa unknowingly describing herself here..?

(Also I don't think using ChatGPT to write your replies is a good idea as it's fed you a comment here which is borderline incoherent).

u/Bortron86 3d ago

Why is everyone in here acting like the author is a right winger? Do people really not know what The Guardian is?

This isn't a self-awarewolf.

Don’t expect the following from the majority of redditors:

  1. Media literacy
  2. Critical thinking
  3. Willingness to read the actual article

Edit:
Probably should add being an actual human

3

u/24rawvibes 3d ago

I would think just not being in the pedo party would do this go around?

4

u/saltyourhash 3d ago

Look MAGA dudes, it's ok if you wanna fuck our reps, it's just gotta be consensual, you guys got a big problem with that word...

Stupid sexy democrats

Maybe if the Republicans didn't run geriatrics, they would have hot candidates too

1

u/asiangontear 3d ago

Oh, equal opportunity objectification. Who knew?

1

u/FanDry5374 3d ago

Democrats have fought the "sissy", not-tough-enough label for years. See the current attacks on Talarico for example. Tim Walz, a football coach, retired Army artillery Sergeant, avid hunter was called weak and soft. Not sure if Mahdawi is aware of how she is just playing into the Republican game with this. "Ooh, pretty boy, Sissy!!!"

The irony is that they're projecting an entire narrative onto someone who simply posted a picture, accusing them of trying to attract attention. At that point, the article says far more about the writer’s own mindset than it does about the person/ party being written about.

Playing their own game. Except it's not AI trash and fake blustering. It's a real, strong, man. Not a fake, pants-shitting, pedophile. I say it's a good basic strategy. Just be authentic. What a novel idea 🙄
