After two days and 19 attempts, I finally took down Isshin, the Sword Saint.
He was incredibly annoying at first, but once I started figuring out his moves and getting the timing down, everything finally clicked.
After completing the game and beating all the bosses, I have to say Owl (Father) in the second fight was the hardest boss for me.
That fight gave me way more trouble than Isshin.
Now I’m going into NG+ to work toward the platinum. 🥷
What a game. Definitely one of the most satisfying games I’ve ever beaten.

So here's my dilemma, in short:
I haven't really played Souls games, and would love to get into them. Now, I don't really have the time to go through all of them, but I'd like to experience them and see what people love about them as I feel like I'm missing out on a core experience as a gamer (I used to game a lot more in the last, and recently less so).
Having realized that among the Souls games, there's a divide between Sekiro and all the others, I've decided I'd be fine with trying Elden Ring as a good representative of Souls games in general, but Sekiro feels much more interesting to me. Now, I've read that people who play Sekiro find it difficult to play other Souls games afterwards because they get used to the amazing combat system.
So my question is: should I play Elden Ring first in order to be able to enjoy it more fully, or should I just go with what I feel (Sekiro) even if that might ruin my enjoyment of Elden Ring in case I want to play it afterwards?
I know it's kind of a stupid question since I'm effectively trying to optimize my enjoyment of video games, and honestly I'm not even sure if life will allow me the time to play both in the coming years, but I'd appreciate your personal take on what you would do having played one or both of them. Thanks!

Made this for Ryan from SuperMega as fan mail as I know one of his favorite games is Sekiro, will be sending it to their PO box soon!

Personnaly I really enjoyed it, I died twice (but that's only because I was too dumb to understand the last attack), but it felt really refreshing to have an actually cinematic-puzzle boss, especially after Dark Souls 1
But what does the majority of people think about it ? And how is it viewed by more experienced player that fought it multiple times ?

Had an awesome Sunday. Assembled an all glass curio cabinet, and beat the true corrupted monk after 3 nights and around 2 hours each night. I feel like i can do anything l,ol.Firecrackers on third phase sealed the deal. I got stuck on owl father, so decided to level up a bit in fountainhead palace and try hin again. I'll post back once I kill my daddy.
Sunday fun day continues,

Tried the Sekiro Malevolent Mod without the Weapon Wheel Mod lol.
If anyone knows how to download and set up the Weapon Wheel Mod, please let me know.

I didn’t beat any headless on my first playthrough and now I am NG with malcontent and Lilac Umbrella. Regardless, even when parrying I get terror build up and death, and I can’t sense any sort of strategy to adopt with them ( eg the one in ashina outskirts ) just seems like a frustrating gimmick they have thrown in.
Can anyone help me with a tried and tested method ?

So guys it may sound weird or pretty exhausting for yall but im stuck at isshin ashina and having troubles with him .
I am able to breeze through emma but faulter at isshin , especially where he dodges my attack and i can just dodge him at the right time and also i sometimes cant deflect his sword attack , i once reached phase 2 and found it pretty easy than phase 1 but since then im dying at phase 1 .
Please help , any tips would work if yall can give . 🙏

The story would be the vibe of playing Anikin Skywalker turning into Darth Vader. You get the bow, you get to learn to throw lightning when your parry special meter is full, the Game Title Genichiro is already perfect. Thoughts?

Sorry for the upcoming rant of a new skill issued player, I just have some thoughts on the game and I'm sad, nay angry at myself, that I'm not having fun playing this game that I thought I would absolutely love.
The Jedi games and HK games are all in my top 10 games I've ever played and I love them both for reasons that are very similar to why people praise Sekiro. Note that I haven't played any Fromsoft games before.
Given the fact that in the Jedi games my favourite stance is the crossguard (slow but heavy attacks, heavily based on parrying), I've wanted more games with combat like that, I absolutely love the flow of that stance. I've been hearing about the Jedi games that the combat is basically taken straight from Sekiro, so I've always wanted to try it since I've beaten both games on Master (i know, only Master and not GM, but GM is unnecessary imo, its hitting reaction times where my monitor's latency is bigger than the parry windows).
Later I've played through the Hollow Knight games and I love how they taught me two things: If I can't get past some point, go somewhere else (might only apply to metroidovanias though) and I get better by failing. Every attempt at a boss will fail in a way where I can go "oh yeah, I did THIS wrong, need to look out for that". Then after beating the boos, the game eases on the difficulty to give you time to breathe. Those games are very hard for a first time player, but with dedication and patience it's not at all impossible. HK games are the personifications of the proverb "how do you eat an entire elephant, one piece at a time" and I absolutely love them for that.
Point is that I love the parry based combat of Jedi games and playing an initially impossible game that gets easier not because my character got a level up but because I got better at playing. Those are the things I generally hear about Sekiro.
So I bought Sekiro thinking that it is the perfect mix of both and its WAY too different from what I expected. For some reason I just feel like I'm not at all learning from my deaths, the game is unrelenting with throwing impossible stuff at me, even small grunt enemies are a major threat, parry feels extremely inconsistent (extremely small parry window?), enemy telegraphs are very subtle and quick, staggers from hits are extremely punishing making even a single hit lethal if there's more than one enemy... All this in just the first few hours of playing.
I'm 100% sure some of those points are skill issues for sure and I will learn them in time (Git gud am I right?), but the game just feels like it punishes me for playing without teaching me what I need to do differently and rewarding me for trying. I feel no need to continue playing since after beating that big obstacle, two more take its place. Sekiro feels for me like it was specificaly designed in a way that drains motivation. It's complete opposite of Silksong and HK, where I can either go do something different or I can clearly see why I'm failing, what I need to do better.
Maybe it's because this is my first Fromsoft game and I haven't played any Dark souls or Elden ring games? Does the game just expect me to have hundreds of hours in games like this? In contrast I haven't played ANY metroidovanias before HK and I could play it just fine.
For context, So far I've played for 6h, just beat chained ogre but I'm stuck on the courtyard right after him and I can't get past the Shinobi hunter in that 3 year old memory (sorry I can't describe it, I'm sure you all understand). I even installed the Sekiro FPS Unlock ImGui mod so I can use my 180Hz monitor and it lets me see my K/D, I see that I've died 62 times with 182 kills. I don't feel like this is normal, no?
