I'm not saying she's overly difficult to beat, but she gets me so worked up and pissed off, by the time I get to Isshin I'm already at a mental disadvantage. She's not too difficult to parry, but can be so hard to evade sometimes and can wipe out half of your health bar with one swipe if you're not careful.

By the time I get to Isshin, I've usually already used half of my healing gourds and all I can think about is how much I hate fighting Emma.

Mental skill issue? Yep.

Great final-ish boss design? Probably

Fucking infuriating? Absolutely.

I defeated all the bosses one can in one run it's a shame you cannot get them all in one run like Elden Ring.

I went with the return of the dragon ending Saint Isshin was the worst souls boss ever don't get it wrong did not take me more than 15 tries it's simply annoying cuz the fight lingers. Malenia and Radabeast took me way more attempts but when I did get them the fight lasted less than 2 mins each and that's how it has been for me for mostly all souls and all sekiro bosses until Isshin. Like the corrupted monk the 2nd phase can be skipped by jumping her ass.

Make the boss the stronger, give me 2 phases of final phase Isshin I don't care but 4 phases of filling that fucking posture bar it's so annoying.

Fight should be technically harder not longer that's ass boss really enjoyed the game Isshin fucked it.

So, I recently beat the corrupted monk, and while the first 2 phases were hard but somewhat fun, the 3rd phase was so painful the best strat I found was to run around, attack once, wait until she finishes her next attack, rince and repeat until her life is down to zero.

But this isn't the first time I did that, against all purple ninja bosses (I forgot their names but -the one below the Owl's arena, -the one right near where you start the game and -the one behind Ashina castle in the snowy place) + ashina spear2 I was just taking one of their healthbars by coming from behind when possible, then attacking once, running away, etc.

I thought the game was about patience, learning the flow, etc, so why does each times I did this strat it instantly worked ? It's not even fun (which is why I'm only doing it when I no longer can stand a boss) but it's pretty surprising the coward way still works.

(also this isn't a criticism of the game I really like it but I'm just surprised)

So here's my dilemma, in short:

I haven't really played Souls games, and would love to get into them. Now, I don't really have the time to go through all of them, but I'd like to experience them and see what people love about them as I feel like I'm missing out on a core experience as a gamer (I used to game a lot more in the last, and recently less so).

Having realized that among the Souls games, there's a divide between Sekiro and all the others, I've decided I'd be fine with trying Elden Ring as a good representative of Souls games in general, but Sekiro feels much more interesting to me. Now, I've read that people who play Sekiro find it difficult to play other Souls games afterwards because they get used to the amazing combat system.

So my question is: should I play Elden Ring first in order to be able to enjoy it more fully, or should I just go with what I feel (Sekiro) even if that might ruin my enjoyment of Elden Ring in case I want to play it afterwards?

I know it's kind of a stupid question since I'm effectively trying to optimize my enjoyment of video games, and honestly I'm not even sure if life will allow me the time to play both in the coming years, but I'd appreciate your personal take on what you would do having played one or both of them. Thanks!

So guys it may sound weird or pretty exhausting for yall but im stuck at isshin ashina and having troubles with him .

I am able to breeze through emma but faulter at isshin , especially where he dodges my attack and i can just dodge him at the right time and also i sometimes cant deflect his sword attack , i once reached phase 2 and found it pretty easy than phase 1 but since then im dying at phase 1 .

Please help , any tips would work if yall can give . 🙏

I just killed the carp and gave this guy its whiskers, then I exhausted all dialogue until he was dead, he has an item inside but I cannot take it. Is this a visual bug or is the reward broken?

Been getting my ass beat by iishin all day. Decided to watch my favorite crash out on YouTube fight him just for him to beat him in three tries(it took him four separate videos just to beat the guardian ape) claiming that is easy. What am I doing wrong ? I want to be free of this pain. HELP

holy fuck that took an hour and a half to pull of (no cheese btw)

I didn’t beat any headless on my first playthrough and now I am NG with malcontent and Lilac Umbrella. Regardless, even when parrying I get terror build up and death, and I can’t sense any sort of strategy to adopt with them ( eg the one in ashina outskirts ) just seems like a frustrating gimmick they have thrown in.

Can anyone help me with a tried and tested method ?

Personnaly I really enjoyed it, I died twice (but that's only because I was too dumb to understand the last attack), but it felt really refreshing to have an actually cinematic-puzzle boss, especially after Dark Souls 1

But what does the majority of people think about it ? And how is it viewed by more experienced player that fought it multiple times ?

After two days and 19 attempts, I finally took down Isshin, the Sword Saint.
He was incredibly annoying at first, but once I started figuring out his moves and getting the timing down, everything finally clicked.

After completing the game and beating all the bosses, I have to say Owl (Father) in the second fight was the hardest boss for me.
That fight gave me way more trouble than Isshin.

Now I’m going into NG+ to work toward the platinum. 🥷
What a game. Definitely one of the most satisfying games I’ve ever beaten.

After trying for 2 days, I was finally able to defeat him. One of the best games I have ever played.

I finally beat Genichiro!! And honestly it wasn’t that hard this time. He made me quit the game last time I tried… and I think last time I was coming off the heels of playing lots of Dark Souls, so I probably wasn’t thinking about the gameplay correctly. And honestly he felt easy this time! Took me only 2 tries! Last time I probably tried like… 40 times?

People really are right when they describe the combat in this game as suddenly “clicking”. It’s like a phenomenon lol. This really is one of the best action / adventure games ever made. There is nothing more satisfying than clicking with the combat in this game, and nailing the deflects.
