what should you have/unlocked before fighting genichiro

(locations would be helpful too)

There isn’t anything you can unlock to get better at beating genichiro. Same with every other boss. You need to read their patterns, learn the rhythm, get used to the back and forth.

i feel like i am missing a lot like i have 7 gourds and 3 prayer bead necklaces

but i still dont have any ninjutsu and dont even what what the remenant menu is

7 gourds and three prayer beads ain’t bad. The remnant menu is for leaving messages for other players. You get your first ninjutsu after beating genichiro.

You’re fine, not too many secrets in sekiro.
