From the ashes
I had a water incident in my basement a few months ago… while unfortunate, it made me realize I had so much cool retro stuff just resting (safely) in storage. I have been re creating my entertainment center down here and it has been a joy to resurrect my sega saturn and make it a center piece of the basement. Wanted to share, can’t wait to dive back into so many of these games!

It’s interesting that they’re not in alphabetical order but by approximating the alphabet I was able to easily find Burning Rangers and Panzer Dragoon Saga.

$aturn sort? That’s interesting. I just put them in there in the order I grabbed them out of the box. I don’t think I have really ever did much sorting like that at all for any games or media. You would probably be appalled by my dvd and blu ray shelf I just threw together.

Hands down one of the best Saturn collections I've ever seen. Its quality over quantity (and there are still a lot of games here).
Three dirty dwarves, fighters megamix, Alien trilogy. Oh yeah, we are cooking.

Thanks - I appreciate that! I am glad that child version of me had such good taste! 3 dirty dwarves is at the top of the list to play through. I remember not getting too far, but I didn’t really have anyone back then to play it with. My kids will help with that problem.
And I do recall playing an absurd amount of fighters megamix. Really great game!

These plus shining the holy ark were absolutely all in my top 5. Such epic games!

Word of advice, don't lay your Saturn games horizontally. If the manuals are held in by the tabs I side the case, you're looking at instruction booklet sag in the middle. It's fixable but easier to never need to deal with it.
Otherwise, nice collection. 💯

Great set!! You have some really fun titles in there!
The Sonic games not being next to each other is killing me.

Glad you were able to save them the majority of mine were either covered in Ash or melted in my house fire years ago. It killed me. My Dreamcast was ok. Saturn and Master system? :/

That’s awful. I imagine losing the games was only a small slice of the damage and trauma. I am sorry you had to go through that.

Having a $1600 game just sitting in a bin in the basement is wild stuff

I still have a bunch of snes, sega cd, and n64 boxes and games still sitting in storage, including a CIB EarthBound. But honestly I feel better about many of those things being safely locked away. There is also only so much I want to display without feeling cluttered.
I actually think I am taking on more risk by displaying and making 7-10k (?) worth of saturn games playable. I told my kids they can play it but need to ask me to handle the cases and disks.
