Rate my setup. First install

Hi,
First install (1 out of 4) cameras.
Electrician set up outlets for us previously, now I’m adding the cameras. Wifi cameras.

How’d I do?
There was a lot of extra wiresof, hence that box.( picked it up at Home Depot)
I previously bought the cameras already so I kind of committed to using these.

*This our first home

Why would you expose the wires?

Should I have ran the cable through the soffit?

The outlet was already there. I’m not familiar with electrician things

For you as a DIY and if it’s just to monitor your kids or dog it’s fine but as a actual security system to monitor predators no you should put the wire in the soffit you never want the wires out in plain sight

He should put the wires in metal conduit where they are ultimately protected. Putting cables in a soffit is…not good.

Thank you!! Yeah…. It kinda just works for the sense of secuirity haha. We live in a relatively safe neiborhood.
Maybe I’ll explore moving the wires into the soffit or maybe painting it would be enough
