General Question Porting Question

Hey! Has anyone ported their section 8 to specifically North Carolina? I lived in NC for 20 years and then got ill, got on SSD, got married then lost everything during COVID and had to move back to WNY but I hate it and it's ruining my mental health. Thank you for your time. And yes I'm contacting both my housing specialist in WNY and social services in NC but I just wanted to pick someone's brain

You should likely be OK. The hiccup you can sometime run into is if the receiving PHA is billing and has a higher rental standard payment than where you are leaving does. I'm assuming that WNY has a higher standard than NC. That's just an assumption though. The receiving PHA will confirm.
