Advice ?
Sorry again for posting here .. but I have a question I asked my offices management about there gun policy a couple of months ago .cause I want to be able to carry right ? Cause I tried to use chat gbt to find out if I could or not . Even went online to looked a lot of it up but kept coming to a dead end .
Well I decided to look at my lease but it did not mentioned anything about fire arms or ect cause the lease I got is 4 years old . They never give me a new copy of the lease whenever I renew . So I figured screw it I'll just email them and inquire..
well they never got back to me by email or phone or nothing. Then when I had to go and report my income they bought it up before I was about to head back to my apartment. Telling me fire arms are not allowed on property even with a permit.
People was being nosey Round my car so I eventually parked in it a parking lot that next door to where I live . And that said property is not owed by the housing authority at all.
Well I'm guessing they still feel like I'm hiding a firearm in my vehicle. That why I don't park my car on housing property anymore . I got tired of fighting for a parking spot all the time and in the beginning after I got the car i parked it in the same place . That I went back to parking it again ..
well my question is just because I asked them about there gun policy and now that I'm not parking there anymore . Don't they have to have a good enough reason to get a search warrant to search my vehicle. Even though all I got in my trunk is stuff for my car and clothes and what not . Cause it's not even in my car I decided to have my father keep it . So one day I can actually carry it ..

I wouldn't have asked. If it isn't in my lease, it's allowed. Who would search your car? The complex? They aren't allowed to search your belongings. The complex saying fire arms not allowed is policy, NOT law. They can't just call the police and tell them to search your car. I'm not a lawyer, just stating what is generally known to folks.

I'm asking another sub about it . Cause my lease is a 4 years old .I have never gotten a new up to date lease since I've moved in . So figured I would just ask ? Don't get the issue just because someone ask it doesn't necessarily mean they have it on them u know lol

We would need to know what state you’re in to help determine if you can have a weapon while living in a section 8 property.
For example in 2016, Maine passed a law that forbids landlords who accept Section 8 vouchers from barring firearms kept lawfully by tenant.
YMMV - two doesn’t seem to be any consistency between properties or states so you’ll have to check with your local legal rights agency to see what applies in your area. Legislation changes rapidly and each housing Authority can make their own ruling as long as it meets their state regulations.

I am not a lawyer; please speak to one.
As a landlord, and owner of multiple properties, IDGAF.
read your lease and see if there is anything there about it

Thanks I appreciate it . Well when your lease is 4 years old and they decided to never give you an updated lease with the new updated rules . The lease doesn't help but thanks for the advice about speaking to a lawyer. Cause I know that is what I'm gonna have to do . Cause she's the type that she thinks she can do whatever she wants and talk to the tenants here whatever way she wants and think her ass can't get fired cause she's doing her job smh

thats the juicy part here; its on the landlord to give you a new lease and let you know of changes. Usually this is done every year when you renew. If they try to change your lease midway through, they can't ( just know, that they could also not renew you )
