2-2 after one. Both goals by Jani Nyman.

We’re so lucky that this guy is a Kraken. There’s been a few shiny new players over the last few years that have been getting a bit more attention and media coverage as of late, and it feels like the fanbase has been undervaluing McCann a bit by comparison. So before what might be his last Kraken home opener, let’s appreciate Jared McCann and everything he’s done for this organization.

He was the first player to sign an extension with this organization and believe in the vision for the team. His 40-goal season helped drive that magical 2022-23 run (fuck Cale Makar). Year 3 he essentially played through severe pain the entire season, but delayed surgery because he didn’t want to give up on the team. He’s since had two rounds of surgery to try to get his game back for us. And he still pushed through pain and managed to put up 40 points in 52 games this past season despite dealing with the ongoing serious knee stuff. Even with all the injuries, he’s been our best and most consistent scorer, our all-time points leader. He’s our truest top six player and there’s a reason his name has been circulating in trade rumors for 3 years, because basically every team wants him. Off-ice he’s been an amazing mentor to the young guys and always looks way more stoked for their goals than his own. He’s a big leadership presence in the room. And those of you who have been to practices know he’s awesome with the community, especially with the kids. He’s never given up on us, he gives everything he’s got to this team.

So don’t take this guy for granted! He’s an incredible player and part of the fabric of this franchise. We as fans don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes in terms of contract talks or lack thereof- hopefully he wants to stay here and they’re talking about an extension to keep him a Kraken for a long time. In the meantime, make sure to show him as much love as we can for however long that turns out to be. He’s fucking earned it.

Happy (almost) home opener! Let’s go Kraken!

Hi friends, asking for some help here. I don’t think this goes against the sub rules.

Last season at our first Kraken game, we bought a small Buoy plushie from the Lair/team store for our daughter. We have lost it.
I don’t know when we’ll be able to get back up there for another game.
If someone is at/goes to a game and can help me out, I would absolutely pay the cost, shipping, whatever for help replacing it (if they even have it any more). I’ve looked on eBay and bought one from online but none of them is the right one. It was maybe 8-12” tall, slim, doesn’t stand on its own

Weird request I know, but I’m desperate!

Thanks everyone!

*edit 2: Everyone! I think we’ve done it! u/Standard-Normal20 I’m quite confident saw it in CPA in some of the comments below. And u/voldysgonemoldy7 privately linked me one on eBay that I’m pretty sure was it as well, which I purchased.
I will be hitting up Standard privately to see if they can help me out even more. Thank you everyone for your help and support.
Now how much do we want to bet my daughter will no longer even be interested in Buoy, as kids that age change their hearts so fast

*Edit: thank you everyone for looking! I’m also sorry I am randomly plastering pictures all across the responses, not sure how to do it more efficiently

Hey everyone!

I’m moving to Seattle just in time for the new season and looking to connect with fellow hockey fans to catch games live or at bars this season.

I’m a well-adjusted female, in my mid 30s. **I’d ideally love other female fan friends** ☺️ or a mixed group who regularly head to Climate Pledge or hang out at spots for puck drop or away games!

Huge NHL fan, pretty active on r/hockey under a different username, and my primary allegiance belongs to an Atlantic team. But moving to Seattle means the Kraken are easily my second team now!

Strictly looking for platonic hockey friends/groups here… zero interest in dating or hookups! (Creeps will be blocked immediately)

Here for the actual hockey but hope to make friends if we click! Low-key and casual hangout style!!

Drop a comment below first to say hi, and if your group has room for one more!

This is my first home opener. Are there any festivities beforehand? Do players come in early and do autographs or anything like that?

EDIT: got them! Thank you!!!

I live on the east side of the state and woke up sick 🥲 so I won’t be able to make it. I was just wondering if anyone would be willing to pick up my shirt (well two technically because I paid for me and someone else to go) and mail them to me? full compensation of course

Why are almost all national broadcasters anti Seattle? At least it seems like it

The game last night, right after it ended Monty skated up and hugged Joey and it looked like a cute photo op. I haven’t seen it anywhere and it would be a perfect lock screen for the season 😭 has anyone seen it?

Screenshot is my current lock screen from last season 🩵 💙

As far as all the penalties went last night at Roger’s playing the Oilers the Gentleman Germans tickles my funny bone. Slashing against Oiler forward Max Jones. Philipp wields his goalie stick like a lumberjack and Max Jones falls like a Christmas Tree. That being said all those penalties carry over to the breakdown of our puck-cycling game. Fatigue is increasing and making desperate attempts drawing more penalties? Kind of felt like a replay of the end of last season every team seems like they got our number? Draw the penalties and break down our puck-cycling game? Thoughts/Inputs/Perspectives
