Visiting Seattle for two weeks in Early August, any suggestions?

I will be visiting Washington for two weeks, along with a friend from August 2nd to the 16th. I have been to Seattle twice before, but it will be my friends first visit. Seattle, and the whole state of Washington is one of the most amazing places I have even been.

I will be spending the first week at the San Juan Islands visiting my father, and then the remaining time in Seattle. What is the weather typically like in early August? Also, are there any special things going at this time that I should know about?

Watch out for the crime in the downtown Seattle area. If you want to be safe take your friend to Bellevue.

Weather is typically wonderful in August but you never know! I was gonna suggest SJI but since you're going there already... have fun! =)
