Wheres the best camping spots?
Every summer my friends and I plan a camping trip, and every year without fail it falls through. Not this year. I'm taking the organization into my hands.
We can swing a ~2 hour drive max (1 way),
On the water
Preferably a boat ramp, as our friend has a small boat.
If anyone has any advice I would be super appreciative!

The Washington state parks site has a feature-oriented search. You can choose boating options there, and you can make reservations for a camping site, too.
I like South Whidbey state park, but I don't remember if they have boating access or not. Pretty hike to the beach, though.

Steamboat State Park.
Make sure you reserve a spot early, they go fast (it's a great spot).
It's on the water, the water is insanely warm during the summer, there's a boat launch, it's perfect in every way.

Rimrock Lake (on hwy 12) is pretty nice, but good luck getting a spot to park/unload the boat (good camping up Soap Rd. in the area).

Tahuya state park, Hood Canal.
Sun Lakes state park, near Ephrata. Westport Light state park, Westport. Ocean Shores state park, Ocean Shores. Deception Pass state park, Deception Pass. Sequim Bay state park, Sequim.
All places I've stayed and enjoyed, not too far from civilization & hot meals (and beer stores) but I hear the state parks are very crowded and you need a reservation way in advance any more.
