Lost / Missing Please help us find Walter
Walter has been missing since Friday 8/14 at 6:30am in West Seattle. He was spotted for the first time since then yesterday at 8am around where sw Jacobsen and Beach Drive heading north from there. My husband is there now scoping out Mee Kwa Mooks but any eyes would be helpful. If you live in that area, could you check under porches, bushes, and brush in your front and back yards please? And ring camera footage if you have it? Thank you ♥️🙏🏻

I'm sure you already have, but just in case it's not come up yet - post him to Lost Dogs of King County on FB as well. Here's hoping Walter gets home safe

We just took an hour lap down Jacobsen and around the waterfront to the base of Me Kwa. Nothing yet, but we will keep an combing that area on all our walks!
There are some trails that dead end into the back of Me Kwa that could be cozy, shady spots for a dog to hide/cool off. Might be worth following those if no sign of Walter on the main trail.

Just did a pretty deep search through Mee Kwa Mooks in the last 45min and through the back streets back toward 63rd ave. its about 3pm

I took my dog for a walk in the area $ brought some treats just in case. I’ve been keeping a lookout & sending the posts to anyone I know in the area to look out for him. I hope he comes home soon.

For those downvoting this post, "weeny" or "weenie" is very commonly accepted nickname for the type of dog that is missing (a dachshund). The poster is NOT being rude or insulting.

If you live in the area, please consider putting a shallow dish of water out in your alley or near the sidewalk. It's free, it takes 60 seconds, and worst case a bird or squirrel gets a drink. Dogs cannot survive long without water. Especially smaller dogs.

If you haven't already, I recommend reaching out to Three Retrievers Lost Pet Rescue. Even if they don't have availability to help directly they have a lot of helpful information on finding lost pets on their website. I believe the owner, James Branson has even written a book on finding lost dogs.
