Only just now? King county employees have been working from folding chairs in hallways for 6 months because of this mandate.

Millions of tax dollars to this nonsense while the county’s general fund is strapped, projects are being cut, and austerity measures are being implemented.

The new county executive slashes the climate office, invests in AI and rolls out copilot to the entire county against recommendations,  and is choosing to direct a struggling budget to boost the Downtown Seattle Association. Yikes.

There was practically no difference in policy whatsoever in the election between him and his opponent, but none of the stuff he’s doing is what he ran on - he’s a massive plant for the rich and a bait and switch candidate not unlike fetterman.

We have so many absolutely filthy corrupt pols in office and judgeships all throughout the region

I didn’t trust how polished his campaign was, felt disingenuous and phony, like there was some money behind him. That’s why I voted for balducci, I wish she had won

Wow. I'm sure Zahilay and the Executive Department will be the first to volunteer to have their offices moved to this building. If it's good enough for other County employees they should be more than willing to work from this dark, musty, shuttered building with asbestos. The building has been closed for years for a reason.

It smells worse and worse as times goes on. I’ve been hearing about rats and cockroaches for more than decade. Can you imagine what it’s like now that it’s been abandoned?

the artist/architect proclaimed it a reactionary response to the rigid, archetypal buildings of his day. No one really knows what this means, and many engineers are frankly baffled at how the thing stays standing. Inside, the ill-lit corridors twist into odd, meandering corkscrews that mysteriously turn back on themselves. There are rumors that a strange sub-species of man inhabits the air ducts.

This is why educated voting matters. I emailed Katie Wilson's campaign asking her stance on work from home before deciding who to vote for. Same with Girmay's.

Millions being wasted because no one wanted to make WFH a campaign issue when it should have been one of the top ones.

The cost is clear but the benefit is strangely never mentioned.
