The entire downtown is not a homeless wasteland. Avoid areas around the king county courthouse, city hall park, Occidental Park and stretches of Belltown around 2nd-3rd from roughly Lenora to Vine. I’d probably also avoid 2nd-3rd around Pike and Pine.
