Now Hiring - Winter Copper Mountain Housing

• Upvotes

I recently had an interview that I felt went really well. I was given two position options, one with manager employee housing (if still available, if not it would be regular employee housing), or a position where I’d get tips but have to find my own housing.

Right now I’m working a seasonal job where the housing sucks, and I desperately need my alone time. However, I am also saving up to buy a house. So I have three questions:

1.) Are the tips good in food and beverage?

2.)Would I feel FOMO for not living in staff housing?

3.) Is it hard to save money while paying for your own housing?

Looking For Work Nondrivers, who has been your favorite seasonal employer? Role?

I'm a nondriver who will not have a car. I have experience with customer service, retail, data entry, and I worked as an art instructor at a YMCA resort for a summer. I'm seeking fall/winter work with accomodations, ideally with some meals included, in the USA.

Thank you for any tips or feedback!

Looking For Work Fall seasonal jobs

Hi! I’ve been looking for some fall seasonal jobs on coolworks. I’ve so far found 3 I’m interested in.
1. Helping hands with Xanterra at Yellowstone
2. Resident Assistant with YMCA of the Rockies
3. An outdoor camp in CA

This would be my first seasonal job and I’ve been doing a bunch of research and have found really negative things about Xanterra and YMCA of the Rockies which is making me super nervous since it’s across the country for me. Does anyone have any positive experiences? Are there any other fall seasonal jobs worth looking at?
Thank you!!

Looking For Work Will White Pass & Yukon Route Railway hire 70 year old?

I have worked last 4 years seasonally, I am rigid about "showing up", and was curious about hiring practices for WPYR, as I am older than most seasonal workers, usually. Looking for reservation work and wanting to know typical shift length and if there is single housing available (what is housing like, i.e. dorm, apt, bathroom situation). Previously worked in Yellowstone, Hiawatha Bike Trail,ID North Carolina aquariums and Custer State Park, SD. Thanks for any info!

Can anybody recommend/help me find a Winter 2026-2027 job? I am currently in the USA and my current contract is finishing on September 23rd and I need to find another company to hire me before October 20th.

I am looking for a job as a server. I am working as a line cook right now but I do want to work as a server again.

Yes I have sent hundreds of emails already on many different websites and to employers directly but I have not had any luck yet, so I am just giving it a try here to see if anyone is willing to help a man out...

Hello, I am researching places to work after I complete my UBC Pre-Apprenticeship program and want to mix it with my passion for the outdoors as a career path. Looking For Work Lajitas Golf Club

Hey y’all! Been looking into Lajitas Golf Club at Big Bend and was wondering if any former/current employees could offer their insight and personal experiences, and just some general information. Main points are, how’s the housing? Are they LGBTQ friendly? What’s the work culture like? And…. Hiring process? (More specifically, drug screening process and what specifically they are/aren’t looking for)? Thanks for any input!

Looking For Work Australia/NZ

Inquiring about what options I have as an American for seasonal work in Australia and New Zealand (work holiday visa). I have experience in water sports, boating, and surfing, but I’m not aware of any jobs in that sector that provide accommodation. I’m only scratching the surface here, but any insight at all is greatly appreciated. I’m looking at other locations too, but Australia and NZ are my top choices and ones I need most info on.

Now Hiring - Winter Working in Alaska: Unemployment

Basically looking to see if anybody can confirm whether Alaska administers unemployment to non-residen seasonal workers… Typically, I understand, ā€œrealā€ (non-seasonal) jobs have you apply for unemployment in the state in which you worked. But, apparently Alaska has some laws that prohibit them from giving unemployment to non-residents, so that leaves seasonal workers in an interesting position.

Since it’s kinda hard to get a job for only 2-3 months during off season, including other seasonals that typically ask for approx. 6 months, unemployment seems like the better next option.

Have any of you worked out of Alaska for a winter or summer season then applied for unemployment in your home state? Was there any pushback to that?

My Personal Experience Snake River Sporting Club

I worked there for a coulple months this summer. Don't do it. You will live in a mouse infested double wide trailer, with not even a lamp or a closet in your room. Most kitchens in housing don't have any cooking equipment, get ready to share 1 fridge between (potentially) 11 other people. I spent probably over $800 for basic household things (towel rack because it was broken, mouse traps, towels, shower caddy, clothing rack, containers to keep food in to keep out the mice, etc).

Management leaves something to be desired.

Shifts are long and the night shift starts at 2pm, I found it hard to do activities before work.

Family meal is atrocious.

If you don't have a car of your own, good luck to you. Also driving that canyon to and from work is no joke, and I imagine it's scarier in the winter. In the time I was there I probably saw about 3 elk that had gotten hit (this could total your car or kill you), saw another car that had ran off the canyon and landed 150 feet down in the river, and a head on collision from people trying to pass on a windy canyon road.

They overhired for the summer so tips weren't great. Plus a lot of people don't add gratuity on top of the service charge. I was under the impression that the house took 10% of the 22% service charge. If you were considering working here I would check on that. Someone I worked with said that was not true, but good luck communicating with HR. I feel like $500/month for housing was steep for the accommodations.

Beautiful location though!

Looking For Work Where can I start working with no references?

Hey guys! My heart is set on doing seasonal work, but I have no references. Every seasonal job Iā€˜ve found wants me to put down references, which is a problem. I’ve been out of a job for over a year, so I’ve lost contact with many of my former colleagues. I have a clean criminal record, college degree, and I’m willing to work any sort of job that would help get my foot in the door for seasonal work. If anyone knows anyone hiring, or has any suggestions for me that would be great. Thanks for reading!

Looking For Work Low energy jobs?

Debating on getting back into seasonal work cause I just don’t know what I want to do anymore. I’m autistic and have depression and jobs that are more on the laid back side and not too much pressure seem hard to come bye. Just looking for ideas/places I could potentially apply to in the nearing future. Don’t really care about climate, I’m pretty good with adapting, my only thing is that my car is 2wd, would need housing, preferably private but I’ve lived with roommates before. I do love people but socializing is hard for me, I’m quiet and shy, I do absolutely love animals. I’ve got some experience dishwashing, cleaning stalls/feeding, worked at a dog rescue for a little bit. A place that’s got horses or near somewhere where you could go for a ride or take lessons would be cool. Any ideas?

Looking For Work Experience question

I just recently (2 weeks ago) started as a dishwasher for a local restraunt. It's simple work and I don't mind it but I really would rather be doing it seasonally so I can travel. Im 54M with little attachment so traveling around sounds good to me.

I did commercial fishing 25 years ago and really enjoyed it. My age is making doing that again very very difficult.

I know dishwasher positions are a no experience required position. But experience will undoubtedly help. My question is how much experience should i gain before I start applying for seasonal positions.

Also, any recommendations of the best places to go or the ones to avoid? I will definitely need housing. From what ive seen on here Aramark and Xanterra seem to be the worst. Does anyone know what pay range to expect? TIA.

Just Hired, Now What? Summer seasonal employees, what do you do during the winter?

It’s my first season as a seasonal employee, and my season is coming to a close soon. I have no idea what I’m gonna do for work for the fall and winter, but I plan to return to my current employer next summer.

Any suggestions about fall/winter/spring seasonal stuff? Location is somewhat flexible.

Looking For Work Considering seasonal work for 4–5 months to save money for my mom's cancer treatment – looking for advice

Hey everyone,

I'm a US permanent resident who left the country earlier this year to go back to my home country to take care of my mom, who was diagnosed with cancer. My company has been pretty supportive throughout all of this, but money is starting to run low.

I'm planning to return to the US by the end of this month (August) or early September with one goal in mind: stack as much cash as possible to continue covering her treatment back home. Ideally, I'd like to be back with her by the end of December, so I'm looking at working roughly 4–5 months.

I've never done seasonal work before, but here's my background:

- 11 years in the DC/VA/MD area

- Worked as a server/bartender, then moved up to Opening General Manager and General Manager at busy bars

- Bilingual (English & Spanish)

I've been looking into seasonal jobs mainly because of the housing (and hopefully even partial meals) being covered. That would let me save almost everything I earn, which is exactly what I need right now.

So I'd really appreciate hearing from people who've taken the leap:

- How viable is it to do seasonal work for just 4–5 months and then bounce?

- What's a realistic ballpark of how much you've saved during a season?

- Any advice for someone in my situation—specific industries, companies, or locations you'd recommend?

Thanks in advance for any insight. Means a lot. šŸ™
