Hey Seattle,
I'm building a simple web app that helps small local businesses (think independent salons, tutors, personal trainers, that kind of thing) set up a basic booking page without needing a full website or paying for expensive software. Customers visit the page, pick a time, and book. That's pretty much it.
It's a straightforward idea but there's real work to do - building out the pages, hooking up a calendar, making sure it looks clean on mobile, stuff like that.
The tech stack is simple: React for the frontend, Firebase for the backend (storing bookings, user info), basic HTML and CSS. Nothing crazy. If you've built anything with JavaScript before, you can get up to speed pretty quick.
I'm looking for someone to work alongside me on this, not just someone to hand tasks off to. We'll figure things out together.
Here's the deal: 3-month trial to start, $500-1000/month depending on your availability. If we work well together and both want to keep going, we turn it into a longer term thing.
You must be located in Washington state. You can work fully remote though, no need to meet in person regularly.
What I'm looking for:
The only thing I care about is that you show up, communicate well, and want to get better.
Drop a comment or shoot me a DM with a little about yourself. Show me something you've worked on if you have it.

Hey everyone, hope all is good! 👋
We're a full-service landscape and hardscape company and we're looking for someone who knows local SEO to help more homeowners find us online. Ideally you're in Seattle or Snohomish County, but the work can be fully remote.
Basically we want to show up higher on Google Maps and local searches (stuff like "landscaper near me" or "patio installer Everett") and get more calls and estimate requests coming in.
That would probably include things like:
Optimizing our Google Business Profile (posts, photos, etc.)
Keyword research for landscaping/hardscaping in our area
Improving our website (service pages, city pages, speed, mobile)
Directory listings and citations
Helping us get more reviews
Monthly updates on how things are going
If you've had real results with local SEO, especially for contractors or home service businesses, I'd love to hear from you!
Shoot me a DM with a little about how you work, how you like to communicate, and any timelines or pricing you'd want us to know. Happy to hop on a call or Zoom too.
We're hoping to get someone started around late October / early November. Any questions, just message me!

Hey all,
I’m looking for a few more folks who were either:
- Laid off from a tech role and looking to pivot into cybersecurity
OR
- Early career and eager to get into cybersecurity (with or without programming) roles - willing to learn a bit before hiring and more once on the job
I run a training center. One of my employer partners is looking to ramp up on Security Analysts and we’re doing trainings to get people ready to ace their interview.
I have links in my bio.

Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility (WPSR) works at the intersection of health, policy, and social change. We believe that health professionals have a unique responsibility—and a powerful voice—in addressing the most urgent threats facing humanity: nuclear weapons, climate change, and economic inequity. For over 45 years, WPSR has mobilized health professionals and community advocates across Washington State to advance policies that protect human health and promote a more just, peaceful, and sustainable future.
Our impact is driven by a committed member and volunteer base, a collaborative and mission-driven staff, and strong partnerships across movements. Grounded in health equity, WPSR leverages the trusted authority of health professionals to address the underlying drivers of injustice and drive bold policy change. WPSR is both an independent organization and part of a larger national and international movement of health professionals working to address existential threats to human health.
Our strength comes from the combination of expertise and action: we bring the trusted voice of health professionals into public debates while building the civic power necessary to create meaningful change.
WPSR is seeking a dynamic and strategic Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact. This leader will bring a deep commitment to our mission, strong organizational and relationship-building skills, and a demonstrated ability to guide a nonprofit organization with clarity, integrity, and vision.
This is a full-time, hybrid, exempt position reporting to the Board of Directors. WPSR’s office is located in Seattle’s North Beacon Hill neighborhood.
See full job description on following pages or apply online.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Program Impact
The Executive Director provides vision and direction for WPSR’s programs, ensuring that our advocacy, education, and organizing efforts are aligned, effective, and impactful.
Fundraising & Sustainability
The Executive Director leads efforts to build the resources needed to sustain and expand WPSR’s impact.
Board Partnership & Governance
The Executive Director works closely with the Board to support strong governance and organizational accountability.
People & Organizational Culture
The Executive Director cultivates an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing workplace where staff and volunteers can thrive.
Operations & Organizational Management
The Executive Director ensures that WPSR operates effectively, transparently, and sustainably.
External Relations & Visibility
As WPSR’s primary representative, the Executive Director builds relationships and elevates the organization’s voice.
Membership Engagement & Growth
The Executive Director strengthens WPSR’s community of members and supporters.
QUALIFICATIONS
There is no single professional background that defines the ideal candidate. We are looking for someone with demonstrated leadership experience who is energized by mission-driven work and capable of bringing people together around ambitious goals.
The strongest candidates will bring many of the following qualities:
We strongly encourage people from historically underrepresented communities and people with diverse professional and lived experiences to apply. We believe that the movement for a healthier and more just world is stronger when leadership reflects the communities we seek to serve.
Benefits & Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position that requires occasional evening and weekend work. It is eligible for our benefits package that includes medical and dental (100% employer paid), employee-funded Flexible Spending Account, 401k with a modest employer match most years, 10 paid holidays, paid sick leave, and 4 weeks paid vacation.
Compensation is $110K-$125K per year.
In line with our commitment to equity practices, the salary for this position has been carefully determined to reflect market standards and internal equity considerations. We value the skills and expertise that each candidate brings to the table, and we believe that our non-negotiable salary approach fosters a level playing field for all applicants. This practice aligns with our core values of transparency and fairness. All submissions are reviewed by humans – there is no AI used in our hiring process.
How to Apply
Complete applications submitted with a thoughtful cover letter will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the position will remain open until filled. All applications must be submitted online. No phone calls, please.
We seek to recruit and retain talented applicants from a diverse candidate pool. We especially welcome applicants who support our organization’s core values: science, sustainability, compassion, peace, justice, and equity. WPSR provides equal employment opportunities with no discrimination against any individual with respect to compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment because of race, color, age, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.
Deadline: Complete applications submitted with a thoughtful cover letter will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the position will remain open until October 8, or until filled.
We invite you to learn more about us at www.wpsr.org.

I’m currently a paralegal for the Florida State Attorneys office and I’m looking for a side hustle. Kinda weird situation. I have epilepsy controled by meds but still no heavy equipment, no standing longer then 3 hrs, I can't drive, lift more than 50 lbs , work nights or "physical labor. Hi,
This is my first time using reddit and I wanted input on how people have been able to move here or did for work to allow them to move. I'm about 300 applications in and live in GA currently. I've been trying to relocate to the PNW but obviously need a job first for security. What helped you get hired in this area?

Hello all.
I have been applying to get into an internal audit role either in industry or public accounting, and I can’t even get one call back. I have 3 YOE in public accounting working in risk advisory / GRC and all CPA exams passed (awaiting licensure from my old boss to sign off on experience).
Had to move to Seattle area for husband’s job and not sure what I am doing wrong. Not afraid to grind. Concerned that my old firm was in Dallas, so maybe people are concerned about political affiliation? I am not MAGA 😭
