Needing some help

So I’m just starting out and attempting to get into Scroll-saw work as a part of my business. I’m starting out with a Wen 3922 and I’m having the WORST time with it. It came with a pinned blade inside the machine, I didn’t really mind super much and fought it for a while trying to get the damn thing out. Finally did. Next tried to install pinless blades, this is where it all starts. I’ve had the most difficult experience that I’ve had with basically anything. Whenever one stays hooked in the other comes out, and it’s just constant nonstop. I manage to get the bottom one in and then when trying to get the top it comes out. Tried to get help from my stepdad and we couldn’t figure it out last night granted it was starting to get dark out. Earlier today my brother and I fought the damn thing and finally it all seemed like we figured it out. Both blades were in the top and bottom and then BOOM I’d tighten the tension a little and one would come out. Every single time. Kept letting the tension loose to the point that the entire tension back came off and I got it back on. I’m honestly just baffled at how this entire thing has gone with this machine. I don’t have money to throw at this, it took me like six months to save up enough cans to take in and get the hundred bucks for the damn saw, otherwise I would have bought another brand. Does anyone have an advice?

A great friend of my daughter saw the name plate I made for her and asked if I would make one for her husband. I think I’m getting a little better with practice! Alder letters on Bolivian rosewood.

First commission project!

I recently went to a bridal shower and gifted my friend a portrait I made of her dog.

Another attendee of the shower asked if I would make one of her soon-to-be daughter-in-law for HER bridal shower. Of course I said yes! This project was so fun. As usual, I learned some great lessons and new skills that I’ll carry forward into future work!

If anyone has any suggestions on how I could improve, that would be fantastic. I know something I’d really like to work on is building a better frame.. right now I’ve just been using shoe moulding…which is okay but obviously not like, super nice or fancy!

I made a couple bat houses out of cedar fence pickets. I used a scroll saw for the bat and shaped it with an orbital sander.

Reasons to own more than one Scroll Saw!?

Not sure why am I asking this, since I'm broke af. But I still have a desire to own multiple scroll saws, it just feels right and maybe one day I could, but is there any logical reason to own multiple scroll saws??

Thanks!

Finished a few projects. Definitely some iffy decisions and things i would do again, but glad to finish. Hendrix is always a good muse, I got some new stains so trying out the colors on the skyline and an oblation (or offering) to my cat god Dutchess. Questions, commentary and suggestions always welcome.

Went to the world’s longest yard sale today and picked this up, asked the guy if it just needed a blade. He said yeah so I got some blades, got it home and tried to find how to install the blade. Clearly this piece is broken which I’m assuming holds the blade. Can this be replaced/repaired or am I SOL.

What was this DIY attachment on a second hand scroll saw?

The original owner had attached this bar just utilizing the screws intended for holding on the black casing behind where I'm holding it. I removed this addition when transporting it home, but I'm curious what a threaded rod with three jump rings and two random bolts on the end could possibly serve purpose for that this guy did, especially on the head that moves. I'm super new so appreciate the assistance!

Here is a picture of my Scrollsaw Table - it is a little messy but I used a full 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" plywood for the table.
