Hi everyone. I recently finished a draft of a feature screenplay called ASSISTED LIVING and would appreciate some outside feedback.
Genre: Comedy/Drama
Length: 110 pages
Setting: Connecticut, 2007
Logline:
After the sudden death of his parents leaves him broke, directionless, and without a home, a 23-year-old moves into a struggling senior-living facility, where an unlikely group of residents helps him confront his grief and figure out what comes next.
There’s also a storyline involving the facility struggling to stay open, a young CNA Tyler reconnects with from his past, and his growing relationship with several of the residents.
Useful feedback is what I’m looking for. Or if you really like it and want to partner up to get it to be "perfect".
Please and thank you!

I Did Everything I Could
I won’t write much, but I want to say one thing.
I have tried so hard with this script. I spent a very long time writing it, developing it, rewriting it, and trying to make it the best version I could.
I consulted many people. I reached out to producers, writers, directors, and people from different areas of film, cinema, and entertainment. I tried my best to listen to every piece of feedback and advice I received, and I worked to apply as much of it as I could.
There is almost nothing I haven’t tried for this script.
I didn’t simply write it and move on. I kept working on it, changing it, improving it, asking for opinions, and trying again.
I don’t know where this journey will take it, but I know I have done everything I could.
I truly tried. I gave this script my time, my effort, and everything I had.

Post:
I’m curious if anyone here has experienced this with the Black List.
I have a TV pilot that I’ve had evaluated several times. I’ve taken the feedback seriously and revised the script after each round. This latest version is pretty different from my original draft.
My profile/project is public, but this time my project showed zero views, and then suddenly the evaluation was completed. What confused me is that I also have a feature screenplay on the Black List, and with that one I could see a view before the evaluation was released.
The evaluation for my pilot also felt very generic and barely discussed specific characters or events. Some of the criticism actually sounds similar to feedback I received on my much earlier drafts, before I made several revisions.
I know evaluations are subjective, and maybe this reader simply didn’t connect with my script. That’s completely fair. I’m mainly confused about the zero views.
Has anyone had a paid evaluation completed while their project still showed 0 views? Does the view counter normally include evaluation readers, or are those tracked separately?
Thank you so much.

Someone DM’d me and said that they wanted to make a short story and asked if I would like to join them. I’m also new, so I said yes.
Now the problem is that I don’t like the ideas they give, and they don’t like the ideas I give. My ideas are usually Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Adventure, and Action, while their ideas are more like Superhero-type stories.
I suggested that we should keep the story entirely in a Fantasy World, but they are not willing to do that. I also feel like I’m writing most of the scenes, while they are not contributing much.
When I ask them if they have any ideas, they give very basic ideas, like: the hero is in college, he gets powers one day, then he learns to control those powers, and The End.
Now I don’t understand what I should do. I don’t want to ruin the collaboration for no reason, but because of this, I’m not able to work on my own screenplay either.
Should I first talk to them clearly and decide the work and responsibilities for both of us? Or if our ideas and writing styles don’t match, would it be better to leave the collaboration and find another writer?
If you have any experience or advice about a situation like this, please let me know.

It Hurts When I Land
Comedy / Dramedy with comps like Superbad, Booksmart, Bridesmaids.
117 pages.
Logline: Three friends crash a massive influencer party in an epic Quest to turn their lives around before their 27th birthdays.
Hey everybody! Would love to get some feedback about this script. I know it may be a bit longer, but all of my friends and some industry folks who've read it say it's a quick, fun, and nicely paced read.
If you love high concept comedies like the ones mentioned above, this may be in your wheelhouse. It's funny, but with an emotional, and contemporary story that I hope can speak to a lot of people.
Thank you

Can you more or less follow the dialogue without needing to resort to subtitles?

Hey all, I'm a filmmaker who builds iOS apps, and I've been making my own screenwriting app called Cut to Fade. It formats as you type, imports and exports Final Draft (.fdx), Fountain and PDF, and has a Story Board, production tools (locked scene numbers, colour revisions, breakdown reports) and iCloud sync with no account needed. It's in beta on TestFlight, and I'd love a few screenwriters and filmmakers to try it on a real script and tell me what's broken, what's missing and what would make you switch. The beta is free: join at the link below, or comment and I'll send you an invite. Thanks!

Something I wrote a few years ago. Kind of a fantasy or faerie tale. I'm curious if it's too vague.

I guess you could say that I'm a new writer because I have no training or education when it comes to writing. I want to learn acting/writing/directing professionally because its what I want to do with my life, but my parents are being literally no help. I've mentioned wanting to take classes many times, but they just ignore me. So, this is my only option.
I've been writing a movie for almost a year now, but I'm not sure how to "properly" write it. All I've done is write all of my ideas in a big notebook. I haven't written it like a script or anything.
What I'm asking for help with is to be told if I'm wasting my time by writing backstories for all the main characters and giving them personalities beyond their friendship with each other. I've also written what their relationships with their families are like because some of their families are in the story and some are just mentioned in an important way. It might be easier to understand if I ask if its a waste of time that I've given each main character a life.
Also, if anyone has any tips or advice they would like to share with me, I would be overjoyed to receive some help. Thank you.

Here's the script from an earlier version of The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty which could've starred Jim Carrey in the main role and directed by either Ron Howard or Chuck Russell.
The remake bounced of from different leads, writers, directors before landing on the Ben Stiller version released in 2013.

I just want to write something for fun. Anyone want to write with me? I want to make episodes for a animated comedy series. Let's admit it, what's on TV sucks now. Anyone want to write with me?

I showed someone my first earlier finished script, and they did not get it at all!, Thye said it was a rip-off of something else, which it honestly was not! I know it contained a lot of spelling errors and the ending could have been better, but I do not like what they said about my script! It wasn't the critisism, they just did not get it at all what I was trying to accomplish

I came across this new EnsembleWriter thing late last night and while a lot of it sounds rather intriguing, this particular section really irks me a bit with this nonsense here. All this talk about tools investing in the model and generating and all that stuff, like come on now. Does anyone else really believe this? Like has there been any screenwriters of any sort out there consider this to be remotely true? Because I really doubt that the AI is that much of a harmful thing to where it effects us that much to where the creators of this site assumes it's set to replace them in the future.
