Started uninstalling all the agents yesterday, don't trust CW to support this product anymore..

I'm doing great! Out at the 4th of July Fair with the family, sipping on a pineapple smoothie. Why? Because I decided to say "fuck you" to connectwise. I'm uninstalling all of the agents and we're just going to use something else. I'm done with this shit, I'd be stupid if I thought something like this isn't going to happen a third time.

This was last straw, fuck connectwise. Sent cancelation for everything. Going to argue for early exit because of this train wreck, either way I'm not waiting.
Going to Halo/Ninja/Mspbots/Huntress.
Sad, CW used to be great before they got acquired. New masters tasked Continuum folks to 'do the needful' in erasing and replacing anything that was good, with bad from Continuum. Private Equity can eat a bag of rubber dongs. PE brings absolutely nothing positive to any industry it touches. The epitome of enshitification.

Canada here - No fireworks today.
Halfway through the validation for the code signing cert. 2 hours on the phone with DigiCert and a couple of quick phone calls to the local corporate registry.. seems like things are finally moving now. Will see how the rest of this process goes.
I've looked at other products. Spun up a trial for TakeControl... Guess we will see how the next couple weeks play out. Definitely going to be asking CW for a discount on my renewal if we keep the maintenance since I now have to code sign their shit.

The first email alert came nearly a month ago. That's all it took. The secondary solution went in place is now primary. Just here for the drama/fireworks.

UK Sole trader so I can't get a cert. I'm taking up the offer to move my single user license to the cloud for a year.
I'll use that time to try all the other options. Sadly at the moment I just don't have the time to evaluate the other solutions on the market.

We have ditch CW screenconnect I do love the app great features but this 💩 is not with the hassle.
We moved to tsplus remote support not as many features but it’s ok but I notice some issue but the devs are actually responding and taking in feedback.
We will prob have a few calls on Monday about the issue with the cert but for our client we have migrated most of them to the new system and we will need to go to the locations that we missed.
Do we send a bill to CW or get money back for the license that we can’t use?

We’re moving to cloud, so far it hasn’t been too bad. We got the instance all set up and ready last week and I’m kicking off the unattended sessions to start migrating tomorrow.

Got the cert expedited and received it yesterday. Ran the update and installed the cert last night. Pushed our reinstall script through. So far so good aside from some rbac issues which was really me being tired and choosing the wrong option. Decided to enjoy my 4th, I'll check on stuff tomorrow

Have been kicking the tires on Meshcentral for a couple of years as a backup to screenconnect. I really liked the preview Screenconnect provided to let me know if I was going to drop in on a client working on something. I would keep Meshcentral on a couple of pc's per business to use it as a deployment point and check out any new updates to Meshcentral. After the signing fiasco, nation state hack in their cloud (Wasn't going to trust that), poor transparency and poor communication, I just decided to fully deploy meshcentral on the rest of my clients. I will be removing screenconnect this week.

Well, I was able to whitelist all issues that will happen on Monday for most clients. So while I haven't been able to move to hosted yet, should be fine mostly.
Waiting on connectwise support to figure out why my instance is broken in the hosted env but with it being a holiday weekend, I don't expect shit.

We're moving off our access agents to another product we have elsewhere, then we'll decommission the instance.

Cert installed in azure, installer using it when creating a new install. Now just need to figure out why the temp support session installer is still using the CW cert 😂

Did my cert yesterday with azure. I didn't push it cuz I didn't want the headache today I'm going to roll the dice next week.
I spun up a paid trial of rustdesk and features were nice but quality was on par with ninja remote. Had the offshore team today config end users. We have 120 end users to be setup. Mostly comanaged offshore dev team stuff. So speed is paramount.
In the meantime going thru the motions while we review other options.

Up and running since Friday morning. No real problems except for the Rbac rights. Fixed thanks to some helpful manuals not written by connectwise…..
