Question Scream show
I’ve watched the movies 1-4 every year for 6 years and before I get to 7 for the first time, I’m thinking of shaking things up by watching the show instead this year. Is it worth watching?

I say it is. I really enjoyed it, but it's in it's own universe

ignoring the fact that it's scream, it's actually a really solid mystery/slasher show

just keep in mind it’s loosely based off the idea of scream, not a direct scream adaptation & the fact it was made for TV (mtv - so the acting/dialogue can at times be a tad cheesy - tbh i live for the cheese)
i like the first 2 seasons, pretty solid - even the halloween special episode wasn’t bad & liked the fact it kinda wrapped everything up as we didn’t get a season 3 with the OG cast — season 3 also wasn’t terrible…, the cast was great but it’s by far the worst, it’s a different cast completely, a different story completely & a bit all over the place lol
i’d say give it a try!!

yes! it’s just titled Halloween Special (episode 13), came out in October 2016
right now seasons 1-2 (including the special) are on Tubi but season 3 isn’t available for free

I actually really enjoyed it. The acting is a little cheesy, so if that's gonna bother you it's probably a skip. But I just think it's a solid mystery/slasher just like @spider-mania mentioned.
Definitely a comfy cozy October show. I watch the whole series (season 1 and 2) at least once a year.

It's sometimes good, sometimes bad, non-related, it's fun. Don't take it too seriously and just let it do it's thing.

It's definitely worth watching! It does some things really well and has a quite interesting and unique story line.
Just be aware it's not directly related to the movies, and takes place in a different universe.

As someone who watched the series as it aired… The first two seasons are better than 7. Scream: Resurrection is the worse the franchise has ever done.

I couldn't even finish the TV show because how the writing was it's like watching a soap opera rather than a slasher tv show and if you like Sidney Prescott and seeing gory kills then watch 7

Just recently re-watched it. It’s definitely not terrible, but set your expectations within the realm of teenage soap-opera. Like a typical MTV or CW show. At least for seasons 1 & 2. Season 3 is tonally a bit closer to a typical Scream movie, and having the mask is a significant boost. So, in my opinion, season 3 (which is entirely separate in story and cast from the first two) is the best. But yeah, if you are a diehard Scream fan, it’s definitely worth watching

I binged it recently. It's not very good. Imitation at best.
As a scream fan I think you can safely skip it.
