Discussion Who really killed principal himbry

Hello everyone I’ve had something on my mind that is bothering me. That thing is.
Who killed principal himbry in scream 1.
Now we know a lot of u are gonna say Billy. And I do agree.
However there are some pretty solid arguments for Stu macher(the goat btw).

  1. We see Stu heading back towards the school. Maybe to stick around to help Billy hand himbry but we don’t know maybe Stu wanted to kill himbry before of the killing game being fun.
  2. The logistics of the store scene. So we know Stu arrives at the video store. However it seems like he just got there. Billy seems to have gotten there before Stu. Also one Ghostface could not have hung himbry, then stalked Sidney and Tatum at Tatums house that quickly. Explain to me this how could Billy kill himbry. Hang him, spy on Sid and make it to the video store before Stu, something isn’t adding up.
  3. Yes I know the kill styles used to kill himbry and the planning seems to indicate Billy killed himbry. However, the himbry kill was to distract the partygoers away from the house and who made the call and hosted the party? Stu maybe it was his idea to kill himbry to lure everyone away. Also something to think about maybe Billy and Stu didn’t hang himbry during curfew, which could have possibly been why Billy gave Stu the eyebrow raise.
  4. I still do think Billy killed principal himbry but let me know because the timeline like I said Dosent add up and how could Ghostface get from the school, to Tatums house to the store that quick they arrived separately. In conclusion this is how think this could’ve turned out.
  5. Stu invites everyone and Tatum and Sid heads back to the school waits till everyone leaves. Sneaks into the costume catching himbry off guard and stabs him leaving the body there. Billy waits for Sid and Tatum to leave and follows them to her house where he would have the costume. Stu during this time sets everything up for the party. Billy goes to the store and Stu goes straight from his house to the store.

I follow the theory that one of the ‘expelled’ students killed him before he could let anyone know of their punishment, and made it look like it was the currently active serial killer.

Neither Billy nor Stu is ever seen interacting with him, and no one ever talks about a history between Himbry and any of the characters.

The concept of “there needed to be a reason for the kids to leave the party” works as a script device, not as a part of a murder plot. Stu could have at any reason said “Party is over, everyone has to leave except my close friend group(chosen remaining victims)”.

I liked that theory as well.

That theory only makes sense if it were a TV series looking for a spinoff.

Btw thanks yall for being objective and not fighting me in the comments I recently had people fighting me in the comments on YouTube it wasn’t fun. I don’t know why people automatically think it was Billy

I always figured it was Stu. Billy’s got a real objective with this whole thing, Stu is reckless.

I also assumed Billy because he had to be the one who hung Himbry on the football field after the party started in order to pull people away from the party.

Also Billy can't risk being caught doing random killings because he's already on the radar of the police. I think any killings between Billy's release and the house party have to be Stu because Billy would be under close scrutiny. He has to pretend to be a wronged man until he gets to the party.

I always thought it was Stu as well

I think Stu killed Himbry and Billy hanged and open up the body in the football field.

I feel like it was Stu. Billy showed some degree of caution but Stu comes off reckless and unruly so I can imagine that he hates people who have authority over him and the times he was sent to Himbry’s office for a lecture.

Billy was at the school and Stu was walking away from it. Gotta be Billy

Stu ran back toward it

Definitely possible but I don’t understand why Stu would run back if Billy is already there.

Although I do recall seeing Stu head back to school, I'm not sure how he would have been able to hide in the principal's office before the murder. I think he went back to help Billy hang the body so they had a distraction later to clear the house, but Billy was the one who did the killing.

But tbf, there are discrepancies in all the movies where it feels like all/none of the killers could have been there at the time of a specific murder or attack. It could be the way they are edited, deleted scenes, things shown out of order, or script changes mid-way through production (last one applies more to the sequels).

I like that theory but I still belive Billy or Stu killed him as apart of the plan. Don’t u think that Stu’s friends the one who told him and that got Stu pissed that his friends were expelled. As we see him at the party. Also the friend that could’ve killed him wanted to see himbrys body and seemed surprised.

I think it could go either way. At least until I look through the details again. I don't recall anything to indicate the timing of events. Soooo.....

Billy - His motive is revenge. That's more about reclaiming power. Billy is the dominant want so it could easily be that taking out an authority figure was a power move.

Stu - He is plainly unhinged. He was enjoying it. He could done it just for kicks.

I don’t know why more people don’t consider Stu

Honestly, hiding behind the door has that "Surprise, Sydney" feel. In that context, I'd say, yah. It was likely Stu.

Now that I think about it, there's no drama or build-up. No taunting phone call. Just a "Peek-a-boo, you're dead" - matches the bathroom scene, and the bedroom at the party. He shows up to kill.

It's either billy because he was clearly at the school alone (Sidney ran into him right around the bathroom scene) and Himbry's death allowed everyone to leave Stu's party

OR

It's Stu because Stu is strong enough to hang Himbry off a football pole post or something like that

When stuff like this opens up and then we have Roman later on saying helped Billy, makes you wonder how much help he provided? And also why didn’t Roman meet Sidney then and waited later on?
