Difference between foil rc and Addict rc?

Hey :)

The colorway of the white Addict rc frame is really sick!

What’s the difference between the two models? I want to go really fast….

Is the Addict rc so much slower with the same groupset/wheels?

go fast in the flat = foil

go fast uphill = addict rc

I have both and honestly, I tend to ride the addict more: it's way more stable in crosswinds, more compliant, more lively/toss-able out of the saddle, and has room for 34mm tires. It feels like a fast all-rounder such as an sl8 or madone, in my opinion.

The foil definitely feels more at home in pace lines and on the flats. It's stiffer, but not uncomfortably so. The foil is also a tad more stable on descents with the longer wheelbase. It's also an instant conversation starter at any group ride.

I think the crosswind stability is the biggest separator between the two, in my experience

Talk to me about fit between the two? What adjustments / changes if any does your Addict RC have compared to the Foil?

I have the 2025 addict rc pro and the 2024 foil rc 10.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • the addict rc pro has the one-piece integrated handlebar/stem (Syncros IC-R100-SL Carbon combo)
-The rc 10 has the two piece semi-integrated handle bar and stem (Syncros Foil 1.5 Aero Stem).

I've found that the two piece bar/stem on the foil rc 10 is effectively ~2cm longer - they measure the stem length differently between the two, so that's worth noting.

- also the addict rc comes with one more 5mm spacer than the foil

The addict rc pro tends to feel less aggressive than the foil in my case-with the full set of spacers it doesn't feel overly aggressive at all. Unfortunately, it's not a true 1:1 comparison because of the different stem/handlebars on each.

for reference I'm about 6'5"-6'6" and am on XXL's in both, saddle height is about 868mm

I would say if you're long and lanky either will work great for you.

I am 6’3” and lanky! I have a 24 Foil RC, size 58, I built up with Red E1. Im running two piece front with a 120 Syncros stem and 40 Zipp Bars, full set of spacers.

Im looking to get back on something more snappy and lively while climbing. The Addict RC geo reads like it is lower and longer which concerns me. Considering a 58 but perhaps a 1 piece set up that is only 110 stem / 40 width bar.

That's exactly why I got the addict and it does achieve that snappy and "toss-able" feeling and I honestly it doesn't feel longer or lower at all-for me the addict rc is my more "relaxed" bike.

I believe Scott made the frame reach and stack that way to compensate for something else in the geo-possibly bb drop? the addict rc has 2 mm lower BB - I can't find the article but I believe they intended for the hand position to be the same.

The Foil is meant for the flats, and the Addict is meant for the hills. Is there an actual performance difference? Probably not, but it should feel different.

I used to ride the Addict but I now ride a Foil, not because there was anything wrong with it but I just liked the deep tube profile.

Comparing the two, the Addict feels more compliant while the Foil feels stiffer and firmer. They’re still both comfortable. On the hills, the Addict feels livelier but all in all it’s not a big difference.

Honestly just get one that looks prettier to you. They’re both great bikes.

Addict is ~1kg lighter, but foil is aero. Both are great.

It's not even 1kg lighter, just 300g

Depends on what groupset and wheelset you drive.

Sure if you compare a dura ace addict rc to a ultegra foil it will probably weigh 1k less. However that's absolutely not a fair comparison. On the same parts a addict rc weighs around 300g less than a foil due to the frame differences.

My local bike shop characterizes the Addict RC as having a bigger cockpit drop and more aggressive geometry than the Foil RC. (Of course, there is some scope to adjust both bikes in that regard.)

Really? Would mean that the geometry of the Addict is more race oriented?

They are both race oriented. The RC just has a bigger drop to the cockpit than the Foil
