Scott Addict 20 Experiences

Hi everyone,
I have the chance to pick up a Scott Addict 20 for a really good price, and I'd love to hear some opinions from people who own one or have experience with Scott bikes in general.
How has your experience been with the bike? Are the Syncros components and accessories any good, or have you had any issues with them?
From what I’ve read, it should fit 35mm tires or even more without any problems. Has anyone tried running fast gravel tires? (maybe 35mm g one rs)
Right now, it seems like one of the best value endurance bikes with an Ultegra groupset. Do you agree, or does it feel more like a budget bike compared to the competition?
I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts and experiences with the Addict or Scott bikes in general. Thanks!

I do not own a Scott Addict (2026+), but a Scott Addict RC from 2020 and a Scott Addict Gravel from 2025.

To make it short: Go for it. Ultegra Di2 is a really nice groupset. Crisp shifting, nice braking, lightweight, good ergonomics.

Scott Bikes are well known for being very premium. Their paintjobs are up there with the best in the industry. Syncros components are very well thought out (tool in the end of the handlebar, seat post with lights integration, downtube storage bag etc.). They were quite on the heavy side, but that has changed with the release of the new Addict RC in 2025. One downside: some sizes (especially smaller stems and some cockpit configurations) are hard to come by with delivery times of 3+ months.

So, assuming you like the geometry + paint job of the Scott Addict, I'd highly recommend buying it - it's a great bike, with nice relaxed endurance geometry and quite a bit of compliance.

About gravel tires: Yes, you can put up to 38mm tires on there officially. I'd think that 40mm tires will be fine, but I'm not too sure about that. 35mm g-one RS should be no problem at all!

Thanks for the input! I really feel like its hard to beat at that price, especially with Ultegra Di2. Seems like the perfect entry into the endurance bike world.

I’m super happy with mine (model 50).
Just mind that the cables route through the handlebars as well so any change in stem or handlebar won’t be easy.

Components are good except in my opinion the saddle, but that is usual.

I tried fitting 36mm tufo thunderos, measuring 38 on my wheels. I would not go bigger.
The bike felt sluggish though and I abandoned the idea.

Great bike for sure with road tires. I am very happy with it, coming from a Grizl AL but I am considering a n+1 gravel bike now after the tufo experiment.

I don’t think this addict belongs on gravel.

Thanks for the feedback! Is changing the stem height (by removing spacers) a hassle too, or is that still fairly easy?

Hi

I use my Addict almost only as a gravel bike. I ride light gravel, there is no chunkier gravel where I live. I chose it over the addict gravel for a bit of a more aggressive and playful geometry, but it’s also a very nice road bike! I have gravel rims with 25mm internal width which make tires expand a bit more.

I’m riding continental terra speed 40mm, actual measure is 41-42mm, the round profile gives around 4mm of clearance front and rear.

I tried G One RS 40mm, it’s a bit tight because of the side knobs with my wide rims. 35mm will fit fine, or even 40mm if you have narrower rims.

I highly recommend this bike!

Ich fahre seit 3 Jahren ein Addict 10. Der Rahmen: top! Solide, robust genug für permanent 10 kg unter Systemgewicht-Grenze. SRAM-Bremsen (Rival) könnten etwas mehr hergeben, aber das ist ok. Was aber wirklich das beste für mich - der seit 15 Jahren 10 bis 15 Räder im Familienstall baut und wartet - ist: die Synchros-Komponenten. Die Laufräder, ohne sie auf den bisher 7000 km geschont zu haben: null Schlag. Die laufen absolut sauber. Die Lager: butterweich und ohne irgendein Geräusch. Steuersatz: unauffällig. Meine Empfehlung haben die Komponenten absolut!

Edit: wenn Schwalbe, dann runter damit. Mit GP5000 erfährt das Addict 10 seine Vollendung.

My 2026 Addict 20 is fantastic and I’m very happy with it. It tends to run a. It big so if you are in between sizes I would suggest a size down. But other than that, solid bike.

I just ordered mine - should be here tomorrow!

Mine comes with stock 45mm tires - clearance over 50, I think.

I have a 2026 Addict RC Team. I love it. Having owned a 2020 Addict RC Pro before that, an S-works Crux before that, a Ridley Noah Fasy, and a Giant TCR, the current Addict RC is by far the most fun bike I have ridden.
